Unless I blinked and missed it, that was the lowest body count of any episode?

Building up to the grand finale of ALL the death and destruction!
Good episode, tense in places. The whole S3 has been pretty solid, way better than S2.
Last episode on Thursday, I only picked up the series after reading this thread, so went right through from S1E1, and I’ve really enjoyed it. I recognise it for what it is, and as a result I’m never really disappointed with what I’m watching, it’s entertaining and that’s what I want. One thing I’ve discovered is that Sonya Cassidy, who was on BBC Points West the other evening, is from Bristol! She’s ambassador for a school in Clevedon for disabled children. I thought she was Canadian, her accent certainly isn’t Brissle!
S3 has been better than S2 but that didn’t take much doing and has been poor overall, only picked up a little the last few episodes.Â
I hate to be that person but here goes. The book S3 is based on is one of the better ones and they've made changes that don't make sense to me. The book is tense from page to page and when he leaves the house it is nail biting. He's answering phone calls like he's in a call centre in the TV version, the mother of the kid is dead for some reason and the abuse at the hands of Paulie has been toned down massively. Also Reacher is way too chatty.
WTF has happened to the formatting?
Pretty much every book adaptation is a massive compromise and a disaster for true fans - be interesting to have a thread to find the exceptions
LotR for me. I love the books but think the movies are better. They cut out all the boring bits, singing, poems and other stuff that doesn't really add to the overall narrative. Oddly the Hobbit has the exact opposite issue.
The body count in the finale makes up for last week.
Superb conclusion.Â
Last 2 episodes are terrible 😔Â
Finale made up for the weaker points. Definitely a good finish.
Final episode had its ridiculous moments but overall it was a solid hour of entertainment. Good series, way better than S2.
The fight with Paulie was disappointing. Can't really explain why without spoilers though.
Â
Agreed, that fight was utter bobbins and way too long. More like a Marvel superhero punch up. The whole episode was a massive block of cheese. The first series was great because they stuck pretty close to the source material. The other two series aren't as good for the opposite reason.
Deleted in case it’s a spoiler
Well it was quite a fun ending. Obviously not the most challenging plot (Mrs epic even coped without too many can we pause Qs and even spotted the switcheroo) but then I guess the books probably aren't either.
S3 Much better than S2.
Series 3 definitely stronger than Series 2, which I thought provided a bit of interesting background but got a bit too "A Team". The fight did go on a bit, to the point I wanted to shout "He's behind you!" in a pantomime stylee when they came back from certain death yet again.Â
That finale was spectacularly silly, yet somehow very entertaining. Looking forward to S4.
S3 better than S2 but not as good as S1. Ending was as expected and required slightly more suspension of disbelief than I would have liked. I got bored of the Paulie fight and wanted it to move on about 1/2 way through it!Â
I had started reading some of the books in random order but have abandoned whichever one I am 1/2 way through as it's not compelling enough and too formulaic.Â

I quite enjoyed the first one I read so the wife got me a bundle from the charity shop for Christmas. Working through them at the moment and, yes, they are very formulaic. That's not to say they're not very readable.
Nothing wrong with formulaic for brain out entertainment - my teenage years included a fair amount of Dick Francis and Wilbur Smith novels after my dad had read them.
(It was the 80s, we didn't know better)

The books are very readable and easy, but some of the later ones are pretty weak - the most recent which his brother (Andrew Child) co-wrote is absolutely awful. Was surprised to learn it was his brother, was assuming it was a teenage son that had taken it on.
Thought S3 was really dull, took what was one of the better books and made it boring - like someone said above, the story was all about tension and him being undercover, the series didn't really have that, but at the same time it wasn't particularly eventful either
