Managed to end up in Hospital last weekend with pneumonia, started off as flu (I think) none of the medics could really work out how a fit, active, 30 something bloke ended up with it and I'm still waiting for test results.

Had 2 types of antibiotics via IV, another set this week via tablet and some antiviral meds via IV. All finished now.

I don't feel ill anymore and my heart rate /temp is nearly back to normal, but I just can't breath!

Easy ride next weekend or is it a long term thing?

Id be staying off the bike for a good few weeks until you feel well.
You cant rush recovery.

It took me a wee while to get fully over it.

I don't feel ill anymore and my heart rate /temp is nearly back to normal, but I just can't breath!

Breathing is probably quite an important thing to be able to do on a bike. Might be an idea to wait until you can do it. Just think what would happen if you ran out of respiratory reserve and had nothing left for your body to use to recover.

I got it earlier this year.

Chest X-rays, antis, then did The Fred Whitton a week after getting it (against advice)

See here

Took me about 3 weeks to recover but I may not have helped myself
