My Seamaster needs a service and I have just been quoted £245 (an increase of over 100% in 5 years) and 6 weeks.
Has anybody else had theirs done recently, If so, where and for how much?
I bought a watch that had been serviced here, not an omega though.

It is still going..
The guy I bought it off was a bit of a collector so would expect him to use somewhere good.
dunno about Omega but can't get my Rolex serviced for much less than main delaer price (c. £250) anywhere else. the only difference i've found is lead time, so it's off to the main dealer... when i've saved me pennies up!
I got my Omega speedmaster "day date chronograph" serviced here...

£120 iirc.
Omega head office in Eastleigh said it would be £250 and maybe 2 months!!
whereabouts are you? I had my flightmaster serviced by a local bod I can recommend if you're in Kent/Sussex. Oh, and from memory it was about £100...
why do they need servicing?
why do they need servicing?
+1
I need to get a new battery for mine (any idea how much?) but hadn't intended to get it serviced aswell.
why do they need servicing?
I think it's overhauling the movement - ensuring that it's lubricated properly, refitting seals and so on. Fortunately mine's a co-ax, so should only need servicing every 10 years (allegedly).
What really rankled was my old Seiko Kinetic - basically it used a weight to charge the battery. All hunky dory, but just because it doesn't need a new battery doesn't mean it doesn't need a service, oh no. The service cost £85, and in the return package they helpfully enclosed a special offer leaflet showing that I could buy the same watch, brand new for £83 (IIRC it was ~£200 when new a few years earlier). Thanks. For. That
