Up on the burial mound for the Solstice and met the usual wonderful eclectic types that I tend to bump into in life.

What a beautiful little island we are lucky to live on.

Nighty night all.

I ran up to a local trig point in the South Lakes to see the sunrise this morning. Which was nice. IMG_0258.jpeg

 Screenshot_20260622-111257.png PXL_20260621_212734470.NIGHT.jpg     Lovely pics guys. 👍

Just got home.

My cheap little commuter ebike has a battery fault currently which meant no battery for the 10 miles home but still very enjoyable. Waiting for a warranty unit from China...

Met some amazing people up there lady night, no one else slept over but people were there till 11ish and the fire kept me company after, along with the stars.

Something slightly odd occurred there there last night once the rest had gone but I only realised this morning. It's not something I'm going to share on here though!

Anyway, I'm going for some longer (mini) adventures over the Summer. Might try The Ridgeway again likely on foot but if I can muster a huge dose of stupidity and optimism, I might dust off my beloved old Jeffsy. It hasn't turned a wheel in a few years now.

There's the Peddars way or the SDW of course. I miss the SDW, I've left a lot of blood, sweat, skin and tears along the Way but made some of the best memories of my adult life too.

We shall see.

Coldrum Long Barrow, spent a fair few nights there myself when I was younger. Not far from the village I grew up in.

Went to la fĂȘte de la musique which was a bit quiet probably because it was too hot. I've been up before sunrise most days recently to get stuff done, by 14h it's miserable outside.

For one awful moment, I thought you were going to 'jump off' the merry go round and leave us.

Relieved to read you'd been out and had a wonderful night.

Nice scar left on the landscape with that fire, and the risk of a wildfire breaking out. Great.

Lol, sorry, didn't think of the other connotations of the thread title!

@integra Yep, that's the place, I go there a fair bit anyway but always try to make the Summer Solstice in particular if able. Missed the druids though, apparently. They go there on the nearest  Saturday before the Solstice I was informed by one of the others I met there. Seems a bit arbitrary but who am I to judge. The common theme is that it's just a lovely place to go and watch the sun rise or sunset. Those stones predate Stonehenge by well over a thousand years if my memory serves.
