^unless you’re a fan of Carrie-Anne Moss, I wouldn’t bother. It also develops the Trish/Patsy character, but I found her almost as unsympathetic as the lead. I’ve given up on S3 as it just gets worse IMO.

This thing where netflickers are putting a film in cinemas and streaming it from the same date, I don't like it. The Two Popes is very good, not sure I'd have seen it in the cinema had I known.
My mistake, it's streaming later in Dec. Glad to have seen it big screened.
Quirky documentary on Prime - it's from 2016 though, and shit happens so fast in the world these days...
Follow The Money - a group of British docu-makers takes a 10 dollar bill to the geographical centre of the U.S. (South Dakota IIRC) and follow it and its temporary owners on its journey. Some wonderful and strange and likeable characters in there. I've watched around half of it so far and what I've seen has been good fun. Give it a try.
The second series of Final Space has just dropped on Netflix. I'm only one episode in and it's easily as good as the first. Hopefully it carries on in that vein.

The Irishman was ok I thought not great. I couldn’t stop wondering what was up with De Niro’s eyes some sort of colored contacts or something?
The eyes were part of the deaging thing.
They start off very bright, and end up milky.
Prisoner on Netflix
Proper slow burn thriller directed by Denis Villeneuve with Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal. Very good acting and script. Excellent plot that twists and turns like a twisty-turny thing.

It’s not Goodfellas 2, I’ve heard complaints that it’s “not much of a gangster film” it’s not really. It’s verging on Docudrama.

Agreed. The problem with it was that they still walked like old men, but it didn't detract from an excellent film. Pacino even managed to reign in his shouty over acting.

I’m enjoying Orphan Black
Enjoyed Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat. Especially the Fat (olive oil) episode as it’s filmed in Liguria, Italy. Stunning in 4K and makes me want to go back to Rivierabike!
I thought The Irishman was pretty good, as has been said not much actual gangster action and not really anything new in terms of plot but worth watching all the same. Probably would have been disappointed if I'd paid to watch it in a cinema though.
Made it to episode 3 of Jack Ryan and got bored. Worth persevering?
Not sure if it has been mentioned before, but for those watching Mind Hunter, on Sky there is a documentary on Ed Kemper. Kemper on Kemper I think it was called. Well worth watching. The mannerisms and tone are exemplified perfectly in Mind Hunter.

I binge watched both series last week, on the whole it's pretty good. It's very formulaic and has a fair few moments that challenge credibility/the laws of physics but some good characters and well acted. I never really got into shows like 24 but the Jack Ryan series have less episodes and once s1 gets going (probably at e3) it sustains it well.

Just started watching The Spy. Not a big laugh but really good.
Damnation - a drama about a group of farmers striking in 1930's midwest America.
This got pretty violent very quickly and had me hooked, burnt through the whole 10 episodes in a week of train commutes!
No series 2 though ☹️

Not Netflix but well worth a viewing on iplayer - Ladhood. Its brilliant! Its just 6 episodes and we did them in one sitting. Genuinely laugh out loud funny. A thirty-something trying to analyse the dysfunctional aspects of his own character and masculinity generally by flashbacks to his youth, growing up in Leeds
just finished 'Who killed Little Gregory' not really into crime documentaries but her indoors does within 10 min i was hooked even had to google if it really was a true story!! massive twists and intrigue and unbelievably all true!
Definitely recommend but its a limited release so not sure how long will be on for.

In fairness though, I've been using MF multiple times as day since I saw Richard Prior (on Video) as a teen.
not sure if its been mentioned already but we're really enjoying narcos, drama series based on true story of pablo escobar and the columbian cartels. really good tv with flashbacks to old tv footage.
"Mid90s" - Jonah Hill's little film about a kid getting in with a bunch of skaters is on Netflix. Just found it, watched it, loved it. Cool as. (ie. not likely to get it's own thread 😉 )
If you've not seen it and are interested in design, Abstract is just an absolutely fantastic series.
It follows a specialist in each episode in their work, including architect, stage designer, typeface design, toy designer etc, etc.
It really is absolutely fascinating and really, really inspiring.
Totally recommend it.
If you like bonkers body horror blended with unpredictable plotting then you can do worse than The Perfection.
Bound to offend someone - I really enjoyed it and had no clue where it was going.
Bits of Cronenberg dotted around but with a shiny veneer.

Gave up on The Witcher after two episodes. I had no idea what was going on.
Not a Netflix production but is now on Netflix. I downloaded the Death of Stalin for my Eurostar trip home on Thursday. Very good fun and well worth a watch.
I don't know if it's already been mentioned but we watched Lion last night. Amazing story, emotional and absorbing. The little guy who plays the main character is outstanding. I've also been watching Ken Burns WW2 series which is very time consuming but so much information and some incredible personal stories.

Can’t remember where I picked up a review of it, but I watched Marriage Story last week. [Just checked: Average Review 8.2 Metascore 93 on IMDb 😲] Scarlet Johansson and Adam Driver are both excellent in it, as are the co-starring Dern, Liotta and Alda.
No super-hero stuff, no special effects, just a nice incisive study of a break-up. Some lovely comedy moments thrown in along the way that elevate it from melodrama.
Not a recommendation but I babysat for some friends a week or so ago. Had a few Netflix things on my mental to-watch list. It’s hilarious switching on someone else’s Netflix isn’t it? 😀 There’s all this stuff on there that you’ve never seen or even realised existed.
Watched a couple of the Witcher, started well, I have a feeling it will fall to cliche soon though and get a bit dull. Still, Boobies
