Others have to think of a way to use it as a weapon.
So, can you think of an object that simply can't be used to kill a man, or find a way to use it as a weapon?
A feather
Maybe I'm really devious or just unimaginative, I can't think of much. I can think of ways to kill someone with basically everything that's popping into my head.
You could kill someone with a feather if you strapped them into a chair, forced their mouth open and choked them with it.
A single blade of grass maybe?
To be more specific a small feather with out a pointy bit, more like a bit of fluff. Right a small bit of belly button fluff, come up with a cludo for that!
Yupp, def a choking hazard.
Having fired a piece of lint from an air rifle, id be confident given the right amount of pressure it could kill if shot say up the nose into the brain.
a rice crispy.
candyfloss.
Laced with poison. Next
Re Tom and grass, mythbusters fired a piece of straw 3" into a tree with an air canon. People aren't as hard as trees.
Candyfloss. Easily murder a diabetic.
I think this thread should be basic reading for all murder jurors and wysiwyg's local cold cases team.
Laced with poison. Next
If we resort to "you can add poison to it, then it becomes a murder weapon" that effectively covers everything.
Single grain of sand/salt/sugar
It's not going to kill anybody unless they are massively allergic to it, or you coat it in poison (as above). It's not heavy enough to be an effective projectile at any speed. It's not big enough to be a choking hazard.
Kinetic energy is 1/2 x m x v2 so a grain of sand, given the right velocity could cause considerable damage.
At 99.9999999% the speed of light it would be highly effective.
Space ships have been taken out of service by sand that's only doing 32000mph. If you were in said craft and it hit a window. Boom.
😆
Shall we stick to plausible murders? I don't think anyone here will be building high velocity railguns/particle colliders any time soon. 😀
Plausible.... I'll stick him in the LHC tube. Probably
Ok long shot. Single grain of sugar. Well say Demerara. Fired into the eyeball. Becomes infected. Death by sugar.
A stw thread like this one?
Poster says "item x"
OP says: "add cyanide/put it in a rifle etc. Next"
🙄
Force someone to read all 860 pages of horas posts, by page two they've topped themselves to end the pain.
Have you seen some of the build threads on here? Next thread i built a shed to conceal home made rail gun.

Sorry science pedantry.
Good intentions.
It would surely by definition be manslaughter.
One fart?
Definitely not fatal, although those unfortunate enough to be sharing it often wish they were dead.

By that logic, I nominate bullets. Pretty hard to kill someone with bullets on their own. Choke hazard, perhaps.
Seems reasonable to me to counter far-fetched suggestions with equally far-fetched explanations, would be a fairly dull thread otherwise.

Doesn't oxygen exist as a molecule at STP ie O2? If not then I'll settle for an atom of oxygen 🙂
Wawas - it's not the presence of O2 that'll kill you, but it's absence 😉 but I suspect you know that.
Thought it was the one molecule of air that was the problem, not the molecule of something that is a molecule. Anyway tangents...could tangents kill people?
Rappers can, ideas can probably these days Tactical Nuclear Weapons, they are exclusively there to prevent people killing each other.
Too much oxygen will kill you. Happens to scuba divers: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxygen_toxicity- it's not the presence of O2 that'll kill you

Stake someone to the beach at low tide, observe how the moon slowly murders them 😈
Springloaded spaniel?
So is free Oxygen a molecule or an atom?
After that Timothy Dalton showed up, I became a pacifist. You'd think that of all people, you'd be the one telling us that everything can be used as a murder weapon, RM.
RM.
It's all about circumstance innit.
Murder being amongst the more extreme crimes someone can commit a certain proportion are bound to get a bit extreme with the means used. All sorts of everyday objects can be "repurposed" even though there are various bits of kit specifically designed for murdering, guns, knives, bombs etc surely the clever choice would be to try and avoid easy forensic detection by using an unconventional weapon.
