Surprised with the strength he's shown in fighting back, a really mature performance. Lendl's influence, perhaps?

game of two halves so far switched sound off squeaky shoes more annoying than grunting women tennisists.

Two tired clichés rolled out already.

Set apiece. Game on. Nice one Andy.

Djokovic suffering somewhat though. May well retire at this rate.

Well done Murray - evens it up!!

The Scot will become a Brit at this rate!!

Great hold to take the set from 15:40. Djok looks surprisingly tired - lets hope so!

aracer, listening on radio. Sounds like Djokovic has big support there? Big Serb population in Oz I'm guessing.

Yes, also a big Croat and Greek one too, with some combustable results.

Murray 2-1 up in the 3rd set. Looking like he's on top, but its very close. Crowd seems pretty equal on both sides. Getting right in to it.

he looks tired DD but tbh I know nothing about tennis and the commentators say he always looks tired.

Certainly more huffing and puffing from him between points than from Murray what this means I dont know

Nah, because it really looks like Murray could win this. Its his best surface of the 4 possibly (with US).

Suddenly looking very good for Murray.

What do you mean, druidh? I only started this thread because I couldn't find anything recent mentioning tennis or Murray, and reckoned I couldn't be the only one watching it who'd like to chat a bit. It's specific to this match (though feel free to re-use it on Sunday if he wins).

Oh and to dd - Murray has been getting a lot of support too (if anything I'd have said more than Djoko).

Mind you, whoever does win this is going to be shattered when they step up against Nadal, this is brutal stuff.

And he's just dropped the game he'd won. Murray seems to be making more unforced errors?

Will Murray ever be given decent looking kit?

And Djok looks like he is going to a Stefan Edberg look-a-like party in his - bit 1980s?

Fair enough if the 5th set doesnt have a tie break. It still has going to the death written all over it. (in before you say that it doesnt.)

An hour and a half for the set. Crazy stuff out there - Djoko is playing like a number 1, which shows just how well Murray is playing.

Druidh - you will have to put up with more Brit ribbing now.

C'mon Andy! Those three saved set points almost made him English. What cocones with the drop shot. 😉

He seems to have decided that he's Scottish after all now. Has he forgotten he needs to win three sets?

Bloody Henman impersonator....

He may be Scottish but the SNP don't want him to have a vote in the referendum (not resident in Scotland). At least it'll prevent Sean Connery voting too.

Murray capitulates in quarter-final/semi-final/final of Grand Slam event (delete as appropriate).

I'd love to know what goes on inside his head during these matches.

Agree aracer - what an incredible effort. Amazing match and brilliant performance from Murray. Tennis is lucky to have 4 incredible top players and a shame in many ways that Andy has to face three such incredible opponents.

Amazing respect for both players.

bit of a thriller

btw if an already world class cyclist was to make the gains in power, endurance and recovery over the course of about a year that Djorkovic has made would anyone believe them if they said it was all the result of a gluten free diet and sleeping in an egg?

Murray is the Colin Montgomerie of tennis, he'll do very well out of tennis but I don't think he'll never win a major.

Ouch Omar - PEDs in tennis, surely not?!?

But hopefully with Djok - its been purely a mental thing. He always had the technique.

In the 70s the tennis players were always languishing in last place with the racing drivers on Superstars. How would their modern counter parts measure up against Brian Jacks et al?
Sorry if you young ones have no idea what im on about.
