He'll never be promoted at this rate. Sometimes I think he wants to be a scotch.

LOL

He may be Scottish but the SNP don't want him to have a vote in the referendum (not resident in Scotland). At least it'll prevent Sean Connery voting too.

Murray capitulates in quarter-final/semi-final/final of Grand Slam event (delete as appropriate).

I'd love to know what goes on inside his head during these matches.

don't think you need a psychological weakness to lose to nadal/djokovic/federer, sadly.

Wow that was a close thing. Apart from that 4th set Murray didn't do too much wrong.

Agree aracer - what an incredible effort. Amazing match and brilliant performance from Murray. Tennis is lucky to have 4 incredible top players and a shame in many ways that Andy has to face three such incredible opponents.

Amazing respect for both players.

bit of a thriller

btw if an already world class cyclist was to make the gains in power, endurance and recovery over the course of about a year that Djorkovic has made would anyone believe them if they said it was all the result of a gluten free diet and sleeping in an egg?

Murray is the Colin Montgomerie of tennis, he'll do very well out of tennis but I don't think he'll never win a major.

Ouch Omar - PEDs in tennis, surely not?!?

But hopefully with Djok - its been purely a mental thing. He always had the technique.

In the 70s the tennis players were always languishing in last place with the racing drivers on Superstars. How would their modern counter parts measure up against Brian Jacks et al?
Sorry if you young ones have no idea what im on about.

Such a meteoric rise to the top? Regularly dishing out a spanking to the Federer and Nadal?

Murray playing in an era of possibly the greatest 4 tennis players of all time loses in a thrilling five sets to the world number one. No shame at all. At least he's made progress since last year. He may never win a grand slam.

They would lose to Jacks in orange eating but win the banana and the squats!

If he'd been offered his world number 4 ranking and a good deal of semi finals and finals in grand slams at the beginning of his career, he'd probably have taken it. He is as it stands the best UK tennis player ever.

Against Et Al - No problem
Against Brian Jacks - No chance unless they binned the gym section

Good effort Murray. Epic entertainment. His Mum's looking well fit these days!!!

Is he? (genuine question)
If so, good on him!

Joking aside, if Murray lives in Surrey (cue a song), does that makes Scotland's leading sportsman ineligible to vote in the referendum?

Er... Fred Perry.

But yes, Murray played well today. Got to be really good to get to choking position so often.
