LoL @ GlenH
My MIL is OK, mad as a box of frogs, but OK. However if I gave you my opinion on the Father in law, I would get an instant lifetime ban from the mods!
I also happen to know that both of my sister's husbands consider their MIL to be mental, which I can't really argue with.
Tell her the return flights are now via South Africa and that a lovely taxi driver will meet her at the airport.Wave good bye sit back and enjoy a cold beer.
Be extremely nice to her that will annoy her more than anything, thankfully my partners mum is great, so no issues, I generally just take the mickey out of her anyway and tease her about having OCD about cleaning. Both her parents are brilliant with their grandchildren, unlike mine who are useless.
Remember its your wife your married to not her mum, if she kicks off again and your being nice to her then your wife may tell her mum to do one for you.
just been to drop the girlfriend and future mother in law at the airport as they are going to Paris for a week
and got a parking ticket because I was parked at the drop off point but made the stupid move of helping them inside with their bags 🙁
went to aldi on the way back to get some of that 12 year old single malt to try and cheer myself up
I'm so close to throwing the poisonous bitch out
she is driving me insane
I've never met anyone so hellbent on confrontation, it's starting to make me ill
I have literally had it with her. Once she's gone I'm having nothing to do with her
They haven't taken losing the Ashes series too well have they?
Make her feel at home, few tins of lager, bit of Rolf on the stereo and Neighbours on the telly
Second thoughts best not post that on here....
Take her to see Beach Head if you want her to see lots of the UK, no-one will ever know...
You can do nothing to change the MIL. If Ms Jools182 were to tell her to do one though things should improve quite quickly. Mrs Sandwich did just this with her mum and it's been fantastic since then. I get on very well with her and look forward to her visits even though she has become harder work due to her age (82) just lately.
Mine left 2 hours ago, crying shame. She'll be back in a couple of weeks, though 🙄
Good grief. I'm very lucky - my MiL is simply delightful. My husband, however, got the short straw when it comes to mothers-in-law - my old dear is a piece of work (she stormed out of our wedding day).

Apart from thousands of people on STW who will suss it out when they see 'Australian MIL found dead at Beachy Head' on the news! 😆

STW? Beachy Head? Just blame the Mods... 8)
My MIL has been living with us for the last 1 1/2 years.
We have our ups and downs, and I complain a lot, to my wife. She take the brunt of it all.
But, to be honest, without the MIL being here, it would be harder for us to look after our son.
It's not perfect, but we have to compromise.
She does create more noise than our 1 1/2 year old though, and she has similar habits to Glen H (although she doesn't wear my socks)
Poor old bird, might just be jetlag making her crabby and irritable. 😆
