I'm off work today with a fluey, fevery sore throat. I'm sat in bed bored thinking I'll watch the highlights of wales beating England last sat night.

What is it with the itv player. It just won't play for more than about 3 minutes without going pop and having to go back to the beginning etc. it seems to manage the adverts alright.

I just checked and I've got 6.6 meg bb speed and the bbc I player usually works well here.

its a bit crap mainly.

if you are able to cast (android) from your mobile you could try it that way. My mobile app itv player is more stable.

No. It's still crap cst from my Note 4. Buffer buffer buffer buffer...

Works on the set-top box though, but only has the last programme available. If I want to get further back in a series, I have to go to the PC...

It's taken me an hour to watch about 30 mins of the programme. Driving me crazy.

oddly ITV Player has always been absolutely fine on my Samsung* with only a 2.5Mb intarweb setup.

*currently annoyed at Samsung for taking away Favourites from the latest Smart Hub update

its most annoying when it just stops so you have to restart the programme Then when you skip forward to where you were, you have to watch the adverts again - grr.

seems more stable recently, might be worth checking you have the latest version

Samsung's Smart TV apps are often a bit flaky. Also depends how much grunt you have in the TV. I went for a TV with more processor cores for more power having read about issues with slower ones. Even then though some apps just generally have issues, in particular the Amazon app, but then apparently it's Amazon at fault for writing a crap app from the threads I've read on the issues.

Do you have Sky+? If so, ITV Player stuff is on that also and will be far more reliable and downloads content to play offline rather than just buffer streamed content.

Or get an Amazon Fire stick.
