It’s amazing isn’t it. I imagine in the military, anyone who is in any way connected with nuclear weapons probably has to go through extremely rigorous psychological testing to make sure they’re up to it. And yet, the Americans have given control of their nuclear weapons to this despicable example of humanity. Maybe it would be a good idea for any politicians who are running for president to go through the same psychological tests. If several years ago, someone had said “sorry Mr Trump, you don’t have the mental capacity to be president”, I wonder what the world would look like now?

my worry about that is 2 fold
1)the dems arent all that popular, they still have no leader and the old guard that failed to boot biden out before his aborted run at president, are still running the show
2) do not underestimate how much Trump and co will do to gerymander, disenfranchise, intimidate & cheat & how much the GOP and the Supreme Court will turn a blind eye to it all

Fair point, but it does feel to me like he has become so unhinged, that the rest of the GOP can see the writing on the wall and will no longer have his back. Plenty of senior and/or influential republicans are increasingly willing to speak out against him. See the MTG comments above and also the backlash after his dancing on Robert Mueller's grave. I can see him sacking Hegseth before long as a scapegoat for Iran and maybe others, making more enemies. Bondi has kept her powder dry so far, but she could really damage him if she wanted to. It just feels to me like it's finally starting to unravel for him. I may be wrong of course, but I need some hope!

That BlueSky post above is partially correct, the two MC-130’s damaged their landing gear due to the nature of the terrain they were forced to land on, and there were two choppers, AH/MH-6 Little Birds, used by the Night Stalkers SO teams. I would think they would like to make a deal, or use this rather to get a much better deal, a deal of a lifetime deal. Because they are holding all the cards.
But they don't want to make a deal only for Israel and or the US to attack them again somewhere down the line. Or engage in clandestine activities to assassinate various leaders.
