Hi,

I've just joined and and thought I would introduce myself and tell you a bit about me.

I recently just got a Specialized Carbon Stumpjumper which I like to ride around Trail Centres at weekends, specifically Surry Hills. My other passions are Golf and my car (BMW M3). I also like to get out for a cheeky drink down my local Conservative club.

Anyway, that's a bit about me.

David

Welcome. I'm a newbie type myself.

Judging from the atmosphere round here, I think you might be having a joke with us though, yes?

For the next few months you will be accused of being someone called Elf or Fred. Don't worry about it.

Hmmm... seeing as you've not revealed your thoughts about travellers or women you're probably legit.

Hi Soobalias, I tend to ride the Holmbury Hill route, on a clear day I can see my office from there (Canary Wharf)

Is that a bluff, double bluff or triple bluff?

FFS - are we going to play 'Are you Elfin?' for the next few months then?

Can someone go round his in real-life, smash the backdoor in, own him with some bombers, pee in his shoes, the lot, until they're assured he'll be normal (just STW normal, not real-life normal) then he can come back on here and we don't have to keep fueling his ego.

And while we are at it, who the * are you?

Assuming the * is blanking out a swear-word, that question sounds a bit hostile; if a question can be hostile. And as such, I will be ignoring it.

Welcome aboard, newbs. Try not to let any grump get on your shirt from this lot, it's difficult to get out at 40'.

Oh, I am sorry. 😳 I'm not really into the whole forum introduction thing if I'm honest. Just looking to slip in to the flow quietly. Long time reader, finally plucked up the courage to sign up. Not looking to take on any "big-hitters" (as I've read them referred to). I have a day-off today but most days will be mostly browsing.

I did read the stuff that happened over the last few days and weekend here and on that twitter malarkey so expected this kind of thing. It's ok. Constant denial seems only to incriminate one in the eyes of the crowd.

"Methinks thou dost protest too much" or something along those lines.

Surely it doesn't stand for "paranoid", though judging from your reactions to newbie types, it might be suitable. 🙂

just to be clear, there is no 'elfin defence' paddedfred was just a loud nobber

you might have been referring to the TJ defence* which was renamed the Edinburgh defence, partly so as not to offend Jezza and partly to implicate Al
