...one of my colleagues is changing career and opening a deli. In preparation for this she went to a cheese convention yesterday and today has given me a carrier back with samples of 25 different cheeses plus some chutneys and sourdough crispbreads.

Best. Desk. Lunch. Ever.

2 reports that have been sitting on my desk for the last month, have just been signed off.

It's too early for a decent whiskey, but damn these things have seen more revisions in the last three weeks than the debacle that the third runway has (almost)

I knacked my shoulder earlier in the year, after 3 months umming and ahhing I had the surgery about 7 weeks ago.

I'm Dead Chuffed I did, 6 weeks on, just back from a week in Corsica, swimming every day, lots of front crawl, back on the mtb too, bit of a niggle but it's not holding me back. I'll be off to the climbing wall shortly for a bash at that. So much better than before the surgery, massive step change in stability and utility.

So: 😀

My goddamn eczema seems to be back under control, which means I can get back to running and cycling without going insane.

Oh, and I've got a job interview in a week and a half. Fingers crossed.

Walkers cheese, cucumber crisps & salad cream, taste exactly like they say they will (well maybe not too cheesey).. which is just a totally bizarre flavour for a crisp

Because I finished my holidays with a 3am taxi to the airport to fly to Turkmenistan.missing a friend's wedding on Friday in Te process.

Imagine my glee when I arrived to find out that the jobs been canceled and I'm being sent straight home on the same plane.

Lost my seat at the dinner table on Friday but will still get to party at night. Plus a couple of days on the bike in Aviemore.

Things that were like pulling teeth two years ago when i started are business as usual now

Plus i just had some dark chocolate digestives in my last meeting

I've just done my 2nd zwift ride of the day as my early morning ride was rubbish.

This one was strong and fast. Well, in a relative context to my riding anyway.

Aahh How about cheddar?

Spent a great few hours with my two boys today for my day of half term duty. Both have behaved themselves and been great fun. We've not had a boys only day out since about July so we made a proper day of it. Watching them growing up, play together well and learn is fantastic.

Don't get much call for it.

Nothing in particular is making me happy, other than I've not got anything of real import to make me otherwise.

I am in Canada right now, and delivered a knock-out lecture at the university this afternoon.

And I've got a good family.

What do you lecture?

It was a very long time since I attended lectures - most were boring in my days.

Which part of Canada as I know they can get very cold over there.

We're taking our caravan down to Wareham forest tomorrow to its winter seasonal pitch. Slow work through Dec to Feb means plenty of time down there, some riding, maybe climbing weather permitting and lots of time in the various great pubs down there.

Had yesterday mooching along Eastbourne sea front with just MrsMC, today the two of us had a child free yomp around Ashdown Forest, including a pub lunch stop.

But the reason I'm really happy today? I spotted that I'd accidentally paid the deposit for my new bike out the joint account before she did, and transferred the money over to cover my trail. Just need to intercept the hard copy statement in the post now. Otherwise I may have to [s]lie and[/s] give her the impression that the deposit was the full payment....
