.....fit brown bar tape on your bike.

Just no.
Firstly, it's brown.
Secondly, it's plastic trying to look like leather (which is an awful material for bar tape), so it looks cheap.

So that's a no.

Fine with camo, cheap spangly, half and half.

Pretty chilled about the whole bartape/colour thing, generally.
Knock yerself out.

But no brown.

Disappointed.

I don't care if it's hand woven by Nelson Mandela from Felicity Kendal's old vests.

It's the worst kind of faux retro affectation.
I had no idea that this nonsense had spread as far north as Burnley.

Personally, I blame Pinterest.

A bit confused here - perhaps you could clarify: there are populated places south of Burnley?

Sorry, I must have misunderstood. I thought brown things from this country were OK, but we wanted to keep brown things made in other countries out.
As you were.

On the right bike it looks fine, you obviously have no taste and probably like instant coffee, that foul lager stuff and cycle in clothes made from awfully common synthetic fibres... I bet you house is floored with linoleum as well. Ghastly oik ๐Ÿ™‚

There is no bike yet made that suits brown bar tape.
None.
It will always look better in anything else.

I have nothing against brown.
Or pink.
Context innit?

Brown bartape is wrong in the same way that blue custard is wrong.

On a related note, I have a colleague looking to find green hoods for Shimano DI2, to match green edged bar tape and green highlights on carbon Cube frame.....

Acceptable?

Bar tape. Surely only cloth is acceptable? Classier if 2 rolls used to create diamonds (ie braided).

'Fit brown bar tape' is definitely a euphemism for bum sex.

I only fit brown bar tape.

And for those of you watching in black and white the brown is the one behind the pink

No, it didn't.
Pink steel frame? Yup.
Brown tape? Was it owned by an American with an unhealthy Brideshead Revisited obsession?

Would you wear brown plastic shoes?
No, no you would not.

And as to brown Brooks saddles, that's wronger than white shorts.
It's a sign of moral turpitude, be warned.
And stay away from my daughters.
