...and we need some clarity on permitted veg:

Parsnip
Swede
Butternut Squash
Tomato
Sweetcorn/Corn on the cob
Celeriac
Turnip

There is an office full of yo-yo dieters who are excited about this...got to be healthier than the '2 bowls of cereal a day diet'!

Cheers

Is it not the fridge test? If it goes in the drawer in the fridge, it's veg, and if it goes in the fruit bowl it's fruit?

So all those veg which are technically fruit are still ok afaik.

The exception being sweet potatoes.

what about quinoa? it's apparently related to spinach

Quinoa ( /?ki?nw??/ or /k??no?.?/, Spanish: quinua, from Quechua: kinwa), a species of goosefoot (Chenopodium), is a grain-like crop grown primarily for its edible seeds. It is a pseudocereal rather than a true cereal, or grain, as it is not a member of the grass family. As a chenopod, quinoa is closely related to species such as beets, spinach, and tumbleweeds.

permitted veg:

Tomato

And now for the 'nobody likes a smart ar$e' pedancy:

Tomatoes are a fruit

EDIT: hadn't read molgrips' comment - smart ar$ery already covered

Which is why he's asking.

See the fruit bowl test above.

Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit.

Wisdom is not using it in a fruit salad.

Quinoa is a protein rather than high carb source if that helps, good for muscle building if gyming it.

Didn't Our Lord iDave himself decree on another thread that sweet potatoes were out?

EDIT no sweetcorn? Oops. That must be why I'm not 65kg yet then.

Many thanks Dave. They have just been shopping, and are looking forward to starting it. There's a few of us - so should be a nice supportive atmosphere with plenty of recipe ideas.

I don't know - didn't see that if so (not been on here much recently). Hmm, hope not. I've established a link between eating pasta/bread (wholewheat) and horrendous sugar cravings. 😥

Not quite matey 🙂

We can have a pretty nice Alfa at the moment or a BMW E89 5-series 🙄

I think we should stick for now, by the end of the year we'll be in Mazza territory. This time next year Rodney...

How's the write-up coming along?

70 hours of headcam footage to edit?

No headcam footage thankfully and notorious shyness means photo's will be exclusively of others... Only got home a couple of hours ago despite finishing on Tuesday.

Was asked by other STWers if I was missing this place... my first question... 'Has he posted up the after pics yet?' 😉

Yep... I'm under 12 stone 🙂

Reckon I'd gained half way through but moved back to a more normal diet the last couple of days. Forget dieting... devote all day to exercise.

Burn more, eat less, low intensity exercise, no intervals blah blah blah... 😉

So is quinoa in? If so, fantastic!

Oh, and may i also add that i've had no chocolate/biscuits since the ice cream stop on Saturday. I'm not quite 100% idave but well on the way to kicking my sugar addiction. *looks at afternoon snack of sugar snap peas and tries not to think of the ice cream stop*

Might I suggest an Alfalfa instead. A much healthier alternative. Or is the king of the alfs not allowed either?
