Fires are very rare with solar PV panels but can happen if the DC connectors are installed incorrectly. All to do with install quality.
So if you're getting some for your house be sure to get a decent installer and not a cowboy.

Meh, mine have supplied power for the house most of the day AND heated our Megaflo to 64c 😉
