Once just caught fire on top of our local Town Hall, apparently.

blimey.

(Clearly there's work going on there too so the solar panel may not have spontaneously caught fire).

Fires are very rare with solar PV panels but can happen if the DC connectors are installed incorrectly. All to do with install quality.

So if you're getting some for your house be sure to get a decent installer and not a cowboy.

yes. But mine are full of water, not electrickery.
And right now they are collecting oodles of hot water for my shower later 🙂

Meh, mine have supplied power for the house most of the day AND heated our Megaflo to 64c 😉
