You would have thought that Meta would have heard of the Streisand effect. Surely this is the best way for them to ensure this book sells millions of copies!

"Meta stops ex-director from promoting critical memoir"

I'm in, just for the disruption, soon as it hits bookshop.org - might not even read it.

seems foolish to bar someone from promoting a book by giving her a huge advert in the news

from Wikipedia after I had to google Streisand effect

"Image 3850" had been downloaded only six times prior to Streisand's lawsuit, two of those being by Streisand's attorneys.[21]

Public awareness of the case led to more than 420,000 people visiting the site over the following month

Once again free speech absolutists supress free speech, which has ramped up quite spectacularly since Trump was sworn in, to no great surprise.

The Newsagents Podcast interviewed her the other day, worth a listen.

its not quite a question of free speech when she signed a severance contract (presumably for a few million dollars, at her level) where she agreed to not do stuff like this (according to the beeb article). If you want to write stuff, that's fine, don't take loads of money to agree not to do it then later do it anyway

It's almost as if that 'BUT MAH FREE SPEECH' stuff from the Trumpy Tech Bros was bad faith BS all along.

I'm with 5lab on this. She's (apparently) already taken the money.
