odd....
Windows 8.1 laptop. I can get into and use gmail, use google drive, do searches in Google, but if I click on a link or type in the url for most sites I get a connection timed out error, including STW, BBC etc....most sites in fact. iTV iPlayer and Facebook For example seems ok. Happens in chrome and IE
Android and iPad are fine. Any ideas
Is it failing for http, https, or both?
Did a restart and it did loads of updates and came back ok....was happening for both though.

was going to say, welcome to China..
same thing here in chch nz. our Vodafone router decided to do it last week. i thought it was the router as when your within 2 meters of it sometimes it connects. Another option is to forget the network and re-enter the security code. Again this is only a random fix. does my head in , have been using Ethernet cable direct since this. have yet to find a solution , only affects all the laptops. phones , pads etc all fine.
I can get the same on W8.1, all other devices work ok. Can even get refused connection to websites while streaming radio without problems.
I then tried a dns cache flush and it is much better, hardly ever occurs now.
