We just have to take him for what he is. A sociopathic imbecile and intellectual lightweight.
Isn't that mocking his 'disabilities'?
You think that people shouldn't be mocked, just because they have a disability? How demeaning is that?
you can mock someone with a disability. That's not the same thing as mocking them for their disability. But you knew that, right?
Can we shut this thread for a year and then come back and see how much damage has been done. That is if he hasn't got bill gates to shut down the cyber in the meantime.
I was sure he was going to lose and really looking forward to this thread dying as a consequence.
Then he won. 🙁

To be fair ninfan had it coming.
Remind us why that didn't happen ...
Because all the conventional politicians didn't want to close it. Now a non establishment outsider will bring change...
...or something.

It's a fair cop.
ninfan - MemberYou think that people shouldn't be mocked, just because they have a disability? How demeaning is that?
You could easily be better than this, if you only wanted to.
You mean like how Obama was going to close down Guantanamo?
Another of Obama's heroic acts in his final days deliberately after the election so it would not affect the result is releasing people regarded as too dangerous to be released during the past 8 years of his Presidency.
On tha Golden Globes I though Hugh Lorrie was excellent ... I paraphrase "thanks for awarding me the last ever Golden Globe, I have a feeling that an award given by an organisation with the words Hollywood, Foreign and Journalist in the title may come to an end"
Streep made a fair enough point, another of Trump's low points. It was fair enough to critise or even mock the guy's reporting but the headshaking stuff crossed the line.

moar #jambafacts
the overwhelming number of convicts granted early release or pardoned happened long before the election
Are you honestly trying to say he's released dangerous prisoners?
So assuming he can get any celebs go to trump's inauguration , which one is going to do a Jarvis Cocker and moon Trump?
And now has Trump broken the federal anti nepotism statute? Does look like he might have.
Anyone else surprised the next president of the USA is allowed to have a personal Twitter account?
I mean, he can't even take a mild ribbing from some celebrities without throwing his toys out the pram, so hows he going to manage doing real politics??

If you cant tell when Trumps deliberately winding up the lefties yet, then you've got a hell of tough a four years ahead of you

There is an official @POTUS account which Obama created in 2015:
Apparently the plan is that Obama hands over the account to Trump (along with the official Instagram and Facebook account) as part of the inauguration process.
But Trump already has a lot of followers on his @realDonaldTrump handle so he may just keep using that one.

Eight (8) years ahead of them.
They will suffer.

My apologies on all this, I thoiught they'd voted for a president and not just a court jester. That changes everything. 🙄
a president and not just a court jester.
I'm fairly sure it was Trump who was wound up!
Haahahaahha, I love hearing you repeating all these reasons why Trump shouldn't be president, which just a couple of months ago you were giving as reasons why people would never vote for Trump as president.
D'oh! 😆

Subtle but important difference. Jamba has taught you well in the art of inventingness and manufacturability of words and meaning.
Oh come on ninfan if you are trying to make out that trump doesnt have the temperament as a toddler you are obviously taking the piss
Seriously for this assignment, you are gonna get D-, must try harder, at troll school
Ninfan, do you think Trump should be president?
Who would have thought that Meryl Streep was anti Trump? She is a talented actress but just an actress - its not a proper job and she doesn't help people. and she has never stood for office or won an election - she should have zero airtime. Like all celebrities.
You are all soooo boring and predictable. Guess what? Maybe Trump will be a good president? Maybe people care about jobs being outsourced abroad etc etc.
He won, get over it.
Funny how all these lefties, after spending years telling us that we shouldn't trust the media, immediately gobble up the 'truth' that the media feeds them...
Media hijacks The Doughnuts' Twitter account, shocka!! 😯
Good to see you swallowing everything Donald, ninfan, I'm sure it'll work out well for you.
Are you honestly trying to say he's released dangerous prisoners?
I was responding to @ninfan's post on Guantanamo, sorry if that wasn't clear.
I still suspect Obama will pardon Clinton for any wrong doing over emails etc, on the last day of his Presidency. My guess is he's told Trump this which is why he's dropped the Special Prosecutor.
like this:
Even by your own standards that's pretty revolting, ninfan.
Rule #1 : Don't be a dick.
What after the fbi did repeatedly, even after having one last go and still managing no prosecution.
At least Obama made serious efforts to undo the disaster that was guantanamo and has made serious progress. The main problems being the last few were resident of places he can't send back to I believe. No reasonable government can base itself on indefinite detention without charge or trial.
Same as the Iraq withdrawal claims, when you actually bother to read up GWB left such a crap state of things and agreements it was always going to be a tough process with risk (and a couple of years before isis existed)
I'll stick with the reasonably high chance of impeachment or quitting. His approach to his business and family are not showing good judgement, I'd expect him to have to start throwing them under the bus shortly when they screw up.
Streep was spot on, people should expect reminded what sort of man he is. One who can't come up with a reason or line to stop a journalist he Dislikes so goes for mocking disability or blatant sexism. It should be seen as exactly the same as using race (oh hang on he did that with the mother of the service man killed but that was OK as she was Muslim not black)
Even by your own standards that's pretty revolting, ninfan.
Troll is troll shocker. At least Franky Boyle tells some funny jokes in the middle and understands what he is doing.
If you are so unable to make a comeback on what somebody has said, what they have written or done that you have to rely on sex/race/disability/sexuality then you are a proper piece of shit. It's got nothing to do with being offended it's got everything to do with not being a dick.
Just left wondering if Ninfan would stand in front of their mum/children/colleagues and do that to make a point.
And if not why is OK to do it on here.
ninfan - MemberHaahahaahha, I love hearing you repeating all these reasons why Trump shouldn't be president, which just a couple of months ago you were giving as reasons why people would never vote for Trump as president.

Really? Have you got a link? I would be fascinated to see it.
A quick search doesn't seem to reveal much, although I did find this post in which I suggest why I thought he might be popular.
ernie_lynch - MemberI thought it was all pretty self-evident. Trump has got into the limelight because he's very rich and other mainstream politicians have been a disappointment.
Posted 1 year ago #
Just like everyone else, including all the pollsters and most leading Republican politicians, I initially thought it was unlikely that he would win. In fact it's clear that even Donald Trump himself thought that he wouldn't win - that's why right up to the wire he was repeatedly claiming that it would fixed so that he would lose.
On a personal level I've been saying since last summer that I hoped Trump would win, so as you can image I'm rather happy with the result.
Here are some of the reasons why I pleased that Trump won. To begin with, and this is a very important point, I am not an American.
Now I know it sounds rather harsh and uncaring but I do feel empathy for the American people, it's just that approximately 95% of human beings aren't American, so therefore their needs are greater.
Far from making the US "great again" I feel fairly confident that Trump will have the opposite effect. US global hegemony is not healthy, its power and influence is used to bully and interfere. With Trump as US president the respect and influence it currently enjoys globally will be reduced.
Trump winning the presidential election means that Hilary Clinton can't be president, a scenario which filled me with horror (and a sentiment probably shared with quite a few Bernie Sanders supporters).
There was a very realistic possibility of a military conflict between the US and Russia if Clinton was to become US president, with the associated risks of it becoming a multinational war reaching across the world. Apart from that Clinton would have interfered massively in regional conflicts.
With Trump as US president the risk of a US-Russian military conflict are reduced massively. Which is excellent news for the whole world, and not least for the peoples of Russia, Syria, etc.
Now I know there are also plenty of negatives, for example Trump as US president is extremely bad news for Palestinians, and he will probably shaft ordinary Americans. Although no one quite knows what he'll do and I very much doubt that he even knows himself - I suspect that he neither expected or wanted to win presidential election, I don't think it was about that.
But I believe that the positives do outweigh the negatives.
Thank you for providing me the opportunity to make those points ninfan. And your relentless cack-handed attempts to score points - I really couldn't wish for more ! 🙂
Ah, the good old "It's just banter" defence.
Well let's all hope that works out when he starts "winding up" the people that have access to armies and nukes eh? 🙄
And as strange as it seems those that want the right to offend others seem the least able to accept being offended (just like thr good old Donald)
Perhaps some sort of campaign could see them all wearing the hat Baldwin has on
What was tha fella doing on the comedy show?
And yes, you're right ninfan, there's levels of offence and a line that most rightminded people can see that shouldn't be crossed. If you can't see that then I worry for you.
Hi is an MP who (foams at the mouth) defends anybodies right to free speach especially if it offensive and offends others - his thoughts are that you can't give offence only take it and you can choose not to be offended. Unfortunatly there seems to be a bit of a logic/sense of humour fail when it actually involves him.
I agree with free speech, but also believe that it comes with responsibility. Much like that muppet up there, the proponents of free speech and offence only offends the snowflakes generally are the first to cry foul when on the receiving end. I've also noticed that they struggle to differentiate the individual from the collective, placing them firmly in the foaming phobeist category. All a bit sad.
I still suspect Obama will pardon Clinton for any wrong doing over emails etc, on the last day of his Presidency
How does that work? I thought you could only pardon someone after they've been convicted of a crime?
The other bit is the president doesn't have enough the power to start an investigation or to direct lwlaw enforcement to something (for very good reasons) yes it was another say what he likes with no thought or research
It just sounds like or fantasy, another one of trump's election lies (that jambs can't let go for dune reason)
Hi is an MP who (foams at the mouth) defends anybodies right to free speach especially if it offensive and offends others..
As Trump once said:
"Somebody will say, 'Oh freedom of speech, freedom of speech,'
These are foolish people. We have a lot of foolish people. We have. A lot. Of foolish people!"
😆
How does that work? I thought you could only pardon someone after they've been convicted of a crime?
Apparently not, you can pardon someone for any actual or potential wrong doing around an issue is my understanding. Immunity from prosecution if you like as Tony Blair did secretly with many in the IRA
@mike Trump can appoint a special prosecutor to investigate which is what he said he would do. There are two lawsuits currently going through the courts seeking action against John Kerry for failing to do enough to ensure email evidence was retained by the US Government in the Clinton scandal. She deleted (scrubbed) 10's thousands of message, somewhere there are copies held by those who received the messages. She says all those messages where purely personal. Others want to see them to make their own minds up.

Who appointed the special prosecutor in that case?
Laurence Tribe, Professor of Constitutional Law, Harvard Law School
(Via email:) "Under the laws and Justice Department regulations governing federal prosecution, a President Trump would not have legal authority to direct the Attorney General to appoint a special prosecutor to 'look into' Hillary Clinton's email situation or the Clinton Foundation or anything else. That's not within a President's power.
The only precedents for the kind of vow Trump made in last night's debate are to be found in dictatorships and banana republics, not the United States. The closest parallel may be what [Viktor] Yanukovych (a former Paul Manafort client) did to [Yulia] Tymoshenko in Ukraine.
under our Constitution, would represent an abuse of power so grave that it would be an impeachable offense—one reminiscent of Richard Nixon's deliberate use of the IRS to go after his political enemies."
[In a second email, Tribe added that] "some of the political leaders who've jailed their political opponents [in the past] have been Hugo Chávez, Recep Erdo?an, Robert Mugabe, Manuel Noriega, Augusto Pinochet and, of course, Vladimir Putin."

It appears the last time somebody tried it their AG resigned, that President was the cute and lovely Richard Nixon.
Others want to see them to make their own minds up.
I think more would like to see Trump's tax returns.
It's all getting to flogging a dead horse time here isn't it. Like you say she lost move along, it was mostly a political stunt and as pointed out at the time several leading republicans also had their own private servers when they were in office. Most of them are probably keeping very quiet.
Perhaps it's time to move along to the pressing matter of making sure the President elect doesn't do something else stupid.

It has been reported today that President-elect Donald Trump has invited anti-vaccine activist Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to head a “vaccine safety commission.” 😯
I still can't quite believe this is happening.
you would have thought a snakeoil salesman would be immune to other snakeoil salesmen, not Trump!
"Just the other day, two years old, two and a half years old, a child, a beautiful child went to have the vaccine, and came back, and a week later got a tremendous fever, got very, very sick, now is autistic," Trump said at the time
The new "elected" president of the United States folks, I give him 6 months before he's kicked out.
I give him 6 months before he's kicked out.
I'll take a bet on that.
I am struggling to recall any films that she impress me with to be honest. Don't kid yourself all the films she is in are shite. The only one film I would sit to watch of her is 1978 The Deer Hunter. Out of Africa ... that is a load of hype. I think I saw it for 20 mins then I vowed never to watch it again. The rest of her films ... shite. In other words I agree with Trump that she is overrated.mikewsmith - Member

Are you brave enough to bet? I want to bet. I want to win money.
I saw the words "President Trump" on the TV screen earlier as they advertised a soon to be shown TV programme, It made me chuckle at the sheer absurdity of it and I wondered whether it would ever stop amusing me.
I give him 6 months before he's kicked out.
I give it more than that but I'm far from convinced that he will serve a full term. I'm also not convinced that he wants the job sufficiently enough for there not to be a possibility of him resigning before completing his first term.
Well like anything it's a matter of opinion

We did this in the other threads there are no internet points for ignorance, simply highlight the name, right click and Search Google
From her wikipedia page
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlotte_Church
Church gave BBC 6 Music's John Peel Lecture at The Lowry in Salford in 2013, in which she criticised the music industry for what she described as a culture of sexism that pressures female artists to project a sexualised image of themselves.[42]Following Church's appearance at the Leveson Inquiry, she became increasingly outspoken on a number of political issues, which she has explained as growing out of her experience of Leveson as well as the Conservative victory in the 2015 general election. She is a member of media campaigning group Hacked Off.[43] In May 2015 she joined a demonstration organised by the People's Assembly Against Austerity in Cardiff,[44] subsequently addressing a crowd of 250,000 at a People's Assembly march in London the following month.[45] At the 2015 Glastonbury Festival she chaired a conversation with two members of Russian feminist punk band Pussy Riot.[46] In August 2015 she performed the song "This Bitter Earth" outside the Shell Centre in London as part of a month-long protest organised by Greenpeace against Shell's pursuit of petroleum exploration in the Arctic.[47] Church endorsed Jeremy Corbyn's campaign for the leadership of the Labour Party in 2015,[48] but by December 2015 she was calling for him to be replaced by a "fresh face" who was more electable.[49]
They either also have no idea how to google, or they are just working through his record collection until somebody says yes.
What really shines through and has been said many times in articles is how much he desperatly wants to be in the Holywood club, part of that elite and when they snub him or call him out he flips.
I give it more than that but I'm far from convinced that he will serve a full term. I'm also not convinced that he wants the job sufficiently enough for there not to be a possibility of him resigning before completing his first term.
I was looking for some odds on lasting a term, he will have to burn his family at some stage as they are all to close to him, one of the main things you need close to you to survive politically is expendibles. Those willing to jump under the bus when required, especially as he will be one of the most heavily scruitinized in a long time (for good reason)
I give it more than that but I'm far from convinced that he will serve a full term. I'm also not convinced that he wants the job sufficiently enough for there not to be a possibility of him resigning before completing his first term.
I think he could well get fed up and resign or have some kind of health issue that forces him out.
But *all* my political predictions of the last 5 years have been wrong, so we can probably look forward to Trump serving two terms 'till he's 78 IIRC...
Discussing this with friends and a number thought he might not even make it to POTUS under the protect my country from all enemies foreign and domestic.
The real issue is whether the Republicans will continue to support his erratic choices and not do the decent thing or will they just impeach him
It seems he seems intent on staring off ignoring both the nepotism clause and the clause regarding making money from foreign nations.
All very strange that a man who never said he would accept the result is able to be POTUS with the fewest votes when folk know russian security forces helped him win the election
I think he could well get fed up and resign or have some kind of health issue that forces him out.
TBH I'm amazed the STW internet medical corp havn't picked up on his incrasing memory loss and confusion over what he has said and inability to recall things he has said as signs of a massive brain injury such as a stroke.
All you guys naysayers about President-Elect Trump office terms.
Do you guys want to bet or not? 😛
Remember I missed two winning "predictions" - Trump Presidency and Brexit ... so I need to win some money now!
I still cannot forgive myself for not putting some bets on those two wins. Every time I recall the winning result announced on telly I just feel pain ... pain that I missed out on earning quick cash.
What odds will you give on not making the term then?
I predict that you'll still be talking shite in five years time. Fancy a bet on that?
to be honest I am more impressed at the way chewkw english has improved , he must have got some english lessons for Christmas .

Not worth betting on leaving early really!

You seem to think it's all up to him, note all the things that he promised that are outside his power and would lead potentially to impeachment, the complete failure to seperate his business (impeachable) and the way he is bringing the family in close (risky)

Yes but the problem that is that it all depends on him not screwing up and making "America Great Again".
Unless you know something which no one else knows I would say that the chances of that are pretty slim.

Firstly, it is not a large sum so winning or losing will not amount much other than bruise pride.
Secondly, what can you do with the winning? The amount will only be enough for a few nights out at curry house.
I will honor all bets.

US intelligence chiefs showed President-elect Donald Trump evidence of Russian efforts to compromise him, according to CNN.The documents, shown to the incoming US president, included allegations that Russian operatives claim to "have compromising personal and financial information" about Trump, CNN reported, citing multiple US officials with "direct knowledge of the briefings"
http://www.smh.com.au/world/donald-trump-shown-claims-of-russian-efforts-to-compromise-him-cnn-20170110-gtp8qy.html
and from the direct CNN Story
These senior intelligence officials also included the synopsis to demonstrate that Russia had compiled information potentially harmful to both political parties, but only released information damaging to Hillary Clinton and Democrats. This synopsis was not an official part of the report from the intelligence community case about Russian hacks, but some officials said it augmented the evidence that Moscow intended to harm Clinton's candidacy and help Trump's, several officials with knowledge of the briefings tell CNN.

Now if I was cynical, if you wanted control you would hold onto it, if you wanted to cause the most trouble and destablize the USA you would drop it on Thursday. I guess it will depend on when Trump stops liking Putin or when they feel the relationship has been burned too much.
Obviously with all the fake news in the....erm....news, this should currently be viewed with Roger Moore level eyebrows, but it's interesting how plausible it is.
