can I have

argies 3 :1 suisse
U S and A 2 : 3 choccie factory

Argie game should be fun.. The world cup isnt like the fa cup ..expect all the top teams to get there in the end with no suprises ( although wouldnt mind columbia to win it!).

I reckon a red card in the argie game and et in the US and A game

Ah. So that's why Everton have no South Korean players.

Congratulations to Algeria, I thought they looked a very decent and confident side and the Germans never looked that comfortable. Their goalkeeper is going to get found out sooner or later with the kamakazi outside the box stuff, red card waiting to happen as the last "defender". I think the Germans will be too good for France who seemed to have lost their way a bit now they are past the cannon fodder in their group.

Interesting piece on Switzerland on the BBC website, team is mostly Eastern European origin with two of them tweeting in Albanian.

Are you kidding? He was their man of the match, and had to be so to make up for his teams poor defending. He never looked in trouble when he did have to come out.

Don't see it as kamikaze. He knows exactly what he is doing.

...most the time.

...and even then he makes it look like he meant it.

As I said above; it's not kamikaze, it's bloody good goalkeeping. I reckon he averted half a dozen dangerous situations by coming off his line the way he did. If they'd turned into goal threats, and Al-jazeera had managed to convert half of them he wouldn't be blamed for poor anticipation or for being beaten in one-on-one situations. It's a 'risky' strategy for perception but it's a very calculated risk if you look at it.

It's like Grobbelaar in the 80's, he'd come 12 or 15 yards for crosses, catch 90% of them, and turn 10 dangerous situations into 1 calamitous **** up. It's just that you always remember the **** up, not the 9 chances that never happened as a result.

It's the trouble with being a goalkeeper; you start with zero, the 'for' tally never goes up but make a mistake and the 'against' usually does.

He does have a touch of the Barthez about him. Who was a bloody liability with his constant legging it up to the half way line!

But Neuerlooks like theres some purpose to his forays forward, as opposed to Fabian, who just fancied a bit of a jog about, as he was bored. Then forgot where he was and got all disorientated

Neuer was Ze Germin's main attacking force last night. 🙂

Oh and a little 😆 when I recall Hoddle's "...the thing about Al Jazeera..." and his rescue attempt.

Seriously though, I thought Neuer was the reason Germany won last night. They may well have been dead and buried at the end of the first half without him. Perhaps the two best players last night were the keepers. I'll miss the Al Jazeera keeper and his facial expressions after yet another close call. He was fantastic.

Agreed Bravissimo. Both keepers had a blinder last night. When you looked at the shots on goal, it was absolutely bloody amazing that the score stayed 0 -0 for as long as it did.

With 2 less able keepers, god knows what the score would have been. The Al Jazeera keeper made some unreal reflex saves!

one could say that if al jezeera had better strikers they would've scored.

I thought the first half was alright, but Alan Hansen said it was rubbish.

At some point Messi will win it for Argentina.

Di Maria has indicated he would like to leave Real Madrid.

After this game, I'm not sure anyone will want him, as he is in the process of being broken.

88 minute 35 yard left foot strike in the top corner.

Sadly it was last updated on the 5th June, so be interesting where we drop to when it's redone after the WC.

Fascinating fact:

Shaqiri is so stocky, one of his nicknames is "Kraftwürfel" - which translates as 'power cube'.

Right! WTF is going on! I've just had a 2 hour ride, forsaking football for a match as this was, of any of the games, a mere formality.

Which just goes to show what I bloody know 😕

a mere formality.
