Good game. Just not extra time, I desperately need an early night!

+ 1

Algeria should've won this - twice when they've been through on goal the strikers have bottled a clash with Neuer...

Jamie - I thought of exactly the same stupidity. And as the commentary says: it's fine doing that when you're 5 or 6 up, but....

The Germans deserve to lose just for trying to be smart-arses! Then how much will that type of dicking about come back to haunt them?

maybe I can after that. I'll give in another 5 minutes to see if Algeria can get one back.

I know there's been a few surprises in the early games of this world cup - but none of the last 16 games so far have been one sided, every victor knows they've been in a game...

Germany could have scored many more goals if not for the goalie on the other team.

Go Deutschland go! You can beat France. 😆

Arse! Feel sorry for the Algerian keeper. Another one of those games where the losers didn't really deserve to lose

This World Cup is rubbish so far! Not remotely entertaining at all

I am sure one of Warnock's teams had a free kick routine with someone falling over on purpose - the Germans over-elaborated.

If Algeria had had any composure in front of goal they'd have scored a hatful.

In light of what i said about Neuer earlier, did you see the post match review? Something like 30 touches outside his penalty area; OK many were backpasses but half a dozen times he smothered a breakaway and avoided the need to make a save. Hats off; he played bloody well too, without appearing to have much to do.

I still hope he cocks one up and wipes the smugness off his face.

Indeed. If they'd had their shooting boots on, they could have had the whole thing done and dusted in the first half

dont think the algerians knew what to do having so much freedom.. I guess maybe nerves got the better of them. That said germany's back four were poor early on and algeria looked likely to capitalise. Luck for them the boots had been swapped for the algerians and neuer had gone to specsavers!

Was a great game that's for sure and was rooting for the underdog again.

There's been a few near misses so far, Brazil,Holland, France & Germany could all have been beaten, so whats the chance either Belgium or the Argies suffer a shock defeat?
