Questions.

1) We have got non HD and HD TVs. Is the picture quality better even on the non HD sets?

2) Can they transfer over saved programs from your old box?

Strangely my S.O's parents are wondering the same thing with regards to question 2, seems that programs can't be transferred but you can watch the programs on the old box:

With the original card used to make the recordings but which is no longer paired, you can:
* Watch old recordings from all currently subscribed channels bar premium (movies and sport).
* Watch live (but not make and successfully watch new recordings) from the mix channels your card is enabled for.
* Watch, record and playback new and old FTA recordings as long as the card has the Sky+ feature enabled - no need to be the original on used to make recordings in this instance.

* But you can NOT get any access at all (neither watch, record nor playback old or new recordings) from premium channels (movies or sports) without repairing.

People do this all the time when upgrading to HD - they temporarily move the old card back to the now FTA Sky+ box to watch their old recorded content (obviously excluding movies and sport).

You need an active satellite feed to the old box (just 1 will do) and the original card used to make the recordings.

HTH.
