Working from home so missing out on my normal commute for last 3 weeks. First week I was quite controlled and getting time on Zwift, but that's gone out the window. Moving less, drinking more alcohol and coffee, and easy access to food. I don't feel in control of my weight right now.

Know I need to turn it around, but motivation at a low point.

Mne's gone the other way. With more running and riding coupled with general apathy towards eating it's dropped below 60kg for the first time in a year.

Sadly my power output on the bike seems to have gone with it.

I've been doing OK as I decided to go dry once the quarantine measures ramped up - 2 weeks now. I'm not shy with the bevvy but usually manage to keep things sensible and rarely go large - first few days off work, though, coincided with some stressful stuff I had going on and the ale was going down very very easy. Reckoned I should put a lid on it, at least for a bit, as could easily get out of hand in the circumstances.

Drinking coffee like it's going out of style it has to be said.

Guilty as charged. Self-isolation is not without its penalties

Down 2.5kg here- mostly because I am not sat a desk all day bored and snacking. And partly because I have to make all the food I bought last week last a month to minimise my shopping trips and that means really stretching out the biscuit stocks.

yes, a bit but don't panic. It's only 3 weeks so far and a week or two of being bad doesn't mean a lifetime of obesity.

I'm like you - I did 4 rides and 2 bootcamps in week 1. 4 rides and 1 bootcamp last week. 1 ride and no bootcamps so far this week. And the social distance to the fridge is getting shorter (plus we're raiding the cupboards for anything now)

It's normal to be depressed, miserable, call it what you want in this environment and to some of us that means overeating / comfort eating. Don't panic - this will pass and what feels horrible now will become normal-ish. Accept it for now whilst maintaining a modicum of control, and when it starts to feel more normal then take control again. You can't do everything at once and making yourself feel bad about won't help it pass any sooner. You can turn it around once you're back in control, but you don't get back into control by staying in anger and depression about gaining weight as well.

Nope, my step count has gone through the floor though.

I'm still keeping up running 3x a week plus an hour cycle, so my weight has gone down very slightly as expected, maybe a pound or 2. I am trying to eat less crap though, apart from the days I run...

Hovering just. Riding turbo (200km last week) but it's killing me. I'd rather the dogs got a good walk than I got a ride so......

im determined not to let this situation have a negative effect on me, so using the gym stuff in my house more than usual. i also do intermittent fasting, never eating breakfast, and only having lunch if i do a gym sesh later. i feel this gives me a bit of a buffer to eat and drink to excess now and then, such as tonight. home-made pizzas, wine, rum and limoncello for the win.

im mebbes down about half a stone over 2 months at present.

dropped below 60kg

Please tell me you’re 5’2” tall!
I’m 5’8” and 77kg, even tho 60kg is within the “normal” BMI for my height, couldn’t imagine getting anywhere near 60kg. Closest I got was 69kg on 2017 Chub Club.

Weight was going up, snacking and going to the sandwich van at work, mainly through desk boredom. Started Chub Club this year at 86kg. A more concerted effort at work and exercise has helped me lose and continue the regime WFH with the Chub Club weekly weigh in as the target.

Last week I skipped brekkie a couple of days as a trial. Thought it easy to try at home as access to better food if I wanted an early lunch. Have managed it ok, but wouldn’t like to do it regularly

not stepped on the scales but noticed the trousers getting tight. So i thought I'd get the chainsaw out to buck some wood which is good exercise....chainsaw trousers were very tight! got loads bucked and then split it today though so got a good sweat on. its not the same as my cycle commute though

I think I'm actually losing a bit of weight....not really moving about much during the day, but running & cycling a load more.

It is a struggle because at the moment, the working day is pretty much punctuated by the meal/snack breaks! 🙂

God yeah, piling it on 🙁
I'm finding, as I am off due to underlying health conditions and cant work from home that I am treating it as a holiday - no structure, just up when little 'un decides - bacon/sausage for breakfast, snacks throughout the day then beer at night times..when it would normally be fruit for breakfast, salad at work and then no beer. However, on top of the Covid situation I am (or rather, my partner is) just starting the process to separate and I'm really hurting. Depressed doesn't come close to how I feel at the moment 🙁
Hopefully back to work on Tuesday will give me a bit structure, will help the diet, which will then help the mind...thats the goal anyway 🙁

Stars have aligned and in the last 3 months I have had the holy trinity of:

being dumped by long term girlfriend

Covid-19

No work

This has resulted in sh*t loads of cycling and an already lean and athletic 86kg becoming 81kg. I of course reduced my Zwift weight as a matter of urgency and with a great sense of expectation.

2020 has been something else.

Lost 3lbs in the first two weeks, bit realised I'm snacking more this week. That said, I'm probably not snacking as much as I do at work.

Or having 3 frothy coffees a day. I would perform all manner of immoral acts for a flat white at the moment....😢

Losing weight here

No cafes and none of the office or M&S junk

Alcohol is none existent

Gone vegan too so what’s the point of eating anymore

I need to flatten the curve. My weight is increasing like no ones business. Working in retail I never get any exercise in over Christmas then usually start again in Feb but never got a chance this year (family issues) then this virus came along. I can’t wait to get out again, but in the meantime I will carry on drinking too much and comfort eating.

About the same but might be losing some muscle as cannot get to the gym. Keeping the weight in check by doing 70 min rides at good intensity.

Joined Chub Club at new year... Lost 10lb almost instantly, then a couple more over the next couple of weeks. Then got caught up in the floods (right in the middle of it!), couldn't really ride or get anywhere and got a bit stressed. And then got ill (believe it to be the Coronavirus) just before the lockdown, so I've actually been stuck at home for 10 days longer than everybody else already...

I'm back up to 90kg... It sucks but it is what it is! More worried about my mental health right now, really not doing all that well on that front as it happens... 😑

I must have a worms pandemic, because despite massively reducing my exercise duration and intensity since late Feb (initially lurgy, then possible mild COVID-19), my weight seems to be staying in the ~75.7-76.3Kg ballpark.

I'm avoiding my usual intermittent fasting + exercise combo because of the small amount of evidence that it could lower immunity. That's probably not necessary but I'm a healthy weight now so I'll put that on hold for a few months.

I'm also missing out on commuting miles so I'd be surprised if I wasn't gaining weight.

Lost 1/2 a stone intialy due partly to being ill, compounded by self isolation and struggling to get food delivered, until a work colleague helped us out.
Now putting weight on, lack of enthusiasm for road riding and Oh Was working from home where my turbo lives. So a few short rides only on the SS.
She's furloughed too now so hopefully I'll get back on the turbo soon.

Yep. I think it's the instant availablity of snacks. Initially I drank a bit more as well but that has calmed down now thankfully

I've put on maybe 1-2 lbs. Not moving as much; step count was regularly 12-13K a day pre lock-down,  now down to about 5K if I'm lucky. Still eating 3 meals so I don't snack. Keeping most of it off with some cycling, but it's a struggle if you're trying to stay local and an hour or so.

Had a case of diarrhoea just prior to lockdown so have now been WFH for four weeks. Weight dropped off me thanks to not eating very much for the first few days of illness, and hasn't gone back on - lost about 4kg from my normal weight. I'd usually commute to work by bike 3 or 4 days a week, am currently geting out for a tandem road ride most days though, or a walk if we're not on the bike. Biggest change has been that my waist size has dropped so much I've had to dig out the smaller (slimmer) trousers from when I was last down to this size

Down half a stone.
Chasing my son around, not sitting on buses and trains for 3 hours a day, not eating a second breakfast when I get to work, not needing much lunch, doing more garden work.
It’ll go the other way when get travelling to work again.
While some of this time at home is a blessing, it’s still a rubbish time. Hopefully will keep some of the positives when life starts running “normally” again.

Aye, as above, no cheeky wee bacon roll at work for 2nd breakfast, or chips with my packed lunch available while wfh...

Weight is fine due to that, and an hour of treadmill/HIIT and a half hour walk in the evening with my wife and daughter.

My wife and I ain't biking or running outside, as our daily outside time is to get my daughter out for a walk and a chat, I find it's the best time to get good chat going with her, away from distractions....

Thought I'd been feeling hungry, looks like slightly below 55kg this morning. I have been busy though, no cycling but plenty of running, moving house by wheelbarrow, clearing Steve's garage and working for the last 3 days in the garden.

This x 1000!

I am riding more, it's easy to get out onto virtually deserted roads/trails straight from work but for a little while early on in the WFH, I was sort of snacking lots and didn't have much structure.

Settled down now so hopefully begin to see some fitness gains. I don't necessarily need to lose weight but I do need to gain some tone!

Heading downwards, i've lost 10lb. I'm putting it down to 6 extra rides a week and much less bread/ pasta as no sanwiches or pasta with suace for lunch. Im going to aim for anoth 10lbs to take me to a decent weight. These next 10lb are the hard ones though, ive noticed my appetite increasing and my body 'wanting'to pile those pounds back on.

Yeah, I'm losing weight, I think it's down to the loss of grazing on birthday/holiday/whatever cakes and sweets that are always dotted around the office at work.

That's despite the booze consumption going up...

I don't tend to eat as much when working at home than when in the office or travelling, but I'm still trying to get rid of the half a stone (I estimate) I put on from mid-December after breaking my leg. Finally got the turbo back out and back running again which is doing my head good. Fingers crossed it's going in the right direction. I don't weight myself and just gauge it on lack of back ache or not and whether my shirts fit well.

Nope. Absolutely hammering the turbo and getting out for a few hours on the road bike. Made the plan to get mega fit during the lockdown.

We'd also normally eat out at least twice a week pre-lockdown so definitely getting less calories now we're cooking every night. No more 2 or 3 course meals!

Weight down just over 5 pounds in a couple of weeks

Getting out for a ride every other day, not sitting in the car for hours and having lunch at the services; it's been good for me.

LOst about half a stone while still eating plenty and drinking too much!

Bearing in mind most of us are likely to get the dreaded CV19, maybe a wee bit extra weight won't be a bad thing.

Turning into a right fat git. Injured my foot in January and won't heal.

Waiting list to see an orthopaedic specialist was over three months before corona virus kicked in. Appointment now postponed indefinitely.

Not even a proper injury just a stupid lingering niggle, which aches all the time and hurts when I bend my toe with load applied. Any activity involving shoes aggravates it. Rest seems to make little difference.

The arch of the other foot has now also weakened and started collapsing and occasionally going numb as a bonus.

Was running 50 miles a week + circuit training but now doing nothing other than the occasional walk to the supermarket. Gaining roughly 1kg per week, and also losing muscle mass.

Logging what you eat in MyFitnessPal and tracking activity with a fitbit or the step tracker on your phone will help you understand why weight goes up or down.
Work out your maintenance kcals and go from there.

Nope. Likely to run my first ever 50 mile week this week and I’ll likely sneak in 30 miles on the bike too.
I’m eating a bit to much sugar but I can deal with that.

Absolutely.  The only time my weight goes down is when I fire up MFP.  The rest of the time I think I know what I am shoving in my face but I'm largely kidding myself

I travel about 50% of the time for work and like hot food for lunch so something fast foodish is on the menu 2-3 times a week.

That's been blown out of the water with the restrictions so I figure If use it as impetus to lose some weight 10 lbs down in the last month, but slowing a bit now. Lightest I've been for 10 years.

Seems like a lot in the same boat then! For my part I’m totally under no illusion as to why weight is going on-no mfp or fitness tracking needed here. Went to the cupboard the other day and somehow demolished 6choc digestives without blinking. Which is exactly why I never work at home normally!! Did at least get in an hour of exercise today and felt better for it.

lost 10kg in the last 4 weeks, but I'm working 60+hrs a week now and as I'm on call most of the time alcohol has taken a massive back seat.
This does not mean I'm any fitter as I'm not getting any time to exercise just little time to eat.

OP - motivation goes up and down. Discipline is what you need to get you through. Go and listen to some Jocko Willink material about discipline = freedom. Awesome stuff
