We will be in touch
A colleague and I both sent ours off several weeks before Christmas and we've not had the replacement yet. Are Apple waiting until after the Christmas postal rush? Are they waiting until ALL Nanos have been sent back? Have they joined all the Nanos together for some fiendish musical experiment?
What I can't understand is that most Nanos of that era will have died several years ago because the batteries are so small and so stressed. Mine did and I opened it and soldered in a new battery, a DIY job I will never repeat because it was the most annoying job I've ever done.
So why go to all this trouble to replace them all? I can only conclude that somebody found a big box of unsold Nanos in Steve Jobs's shed and decided to cook up a PR story that would make Apple look responsible while getting shot of out-of-date technology with no need to pay for environmentally sound disposal.
Not the case at all, only a very small percentage have been recalled, and they are the ones with the "at risk" batteries. Also according to the original threads latest few comments some have been replaced with 6th gen touch screens! As for yours, they may get the hump as you've had it apart and send it you back. Good on apple I say for the recall!
