I've recently separated from my partner of 10+ years, and have moved out!
We have agreed that she will buy me out of the house and pay me an agreed amount (ave of 2 surveyors estimates) to cover my part of the equity.
She has employed Conveyancing solicitors, and they are recommending that I employ some solicitors.

The amount of money is significant (>£100K), and I am in reasonable relations with my ex-partner (note we aren't married, but do have a kid). Custody of all bikes has been agreed altho some are being held hostage in the house (due to lack of space in my rental) 🙂

Thanks for any advice or thoughts.

You'll need a solicitor to do all the KYC and anti money laundering anyway if property is changing hands, so you might as well get one to fill out your forms for you too.

Use binding arbitration. cheaper easier and its not in their interests to make it difficult unlike soliciters
