Some like Argos buy cheap, and sell at double the price for 3-6 months knowing they'll sell very few, then do a "wow" deal at half price. It's very rare a big retailer makes a loss on a product. Sometimes it's supported by the Manufacturer with price support.

OP I was just offering some advice in my absence of specific knowledge.
