Currently running 40mm Schwalbe G One RS front and rear which are fast in a straight line but lacking grip when I'm out the saddle. And a bit too narrow for rougher terrain.Â
I would get some Thunder Berts in 2.1 inch but there seems to be a shortage of them.Â
What wide gravel tyres are you using for a mixture of road and off road? Priority is definitely speed over grip (to a point).Â

If you can fit a 2" in I'd recommend Continental Terra Hardpacks.
50mm resolutes from October to AprilÂ

On the same ride? Or are you a candidate for 2 wheelsets? You appear to be wanting the moon on a stick otherwise.
Got 2 wheel sets. One with road tyres. The other with gravel tyres. Just looking for something wide that rolls well. Like a Schwalbe thunder wet but can't find any in stock anywhere.Â
Pirelli Cinturato
Pirelli Cinturato
Good call, except there are at least 4 versions of cinturato grav tyres. H, M, S and RC etc
Vittoria terrano dry, the 47mm comes up big. Gravel King for a lighter carcass
I've ridden with dropbars offroad for decades. In countries with hard baked dirt 40-50mm works well, eg USAÂ Africa & Oz, but my experience is that the best tyre for UK gravel is a small block 2.35" 29er, but you'll have to wait for the next generation of gravel bikes for wide enough clearances to be able to fit one.
In the meantime you can enjoy those benefits if you ride a 29er dropbar MonsterCross bike.
SIngular Sam is a purveyor of some rather tasty suitable mounts.:)

Or buy a Genesis Vagabond... Even my 2021 version can fit 2.3's 😎

Rene Herself fleecer ridge.
Bit spendy, but very good.
A fast rolling XC tyre would be great if it was 29 x 2.0 or a 2.1. but they're hard to find now. I though about Maxxis Ikons or similar.Â
Vittoria T50 in 50mm width. Fast on tarmac and plenty of grip off road. Very happy with them.
