have got the use of a car whilst staying in manc for a few days.

which trail centres are relatively close and, more importantly, most fun? don't mind driving an hour or two, but want lots of "flow".

cheers

what col said.
also, cannock chase is only a couple of hours max down the M6.
gisburn forest, and if you time it right when you leave then whinlatter and grizedale are probably reachable within your timescales too.

From here, with a car and needs to be within two hours?
Lee & Crag quarries but I'm not that keen on them.
Marin and Penmachno are great. Do them both in one ride. It's a top day out.
Coed-y-Brenin is just over two hours but worth it.
Grizadale was nice but....no, I wouldn't bother again.
Whinlatter is a good bit more than two hours.
LLandegla is fun if you hammer it and do some of the old bridleways in the forest along with the mast and Planks of Doom.
I wouldn't go back to Cannock Chase to do either of the marked trails again. Maybe the secret stuff would make it worthwhile if you know it?

would rather spend less time in the car and more time on the bike.

main reason i'm looking at trail centres is because i can't be bothered to faff looking for trails or ending up lost in the peaks.

manchester to keswick is easily doable in 2 hours if you have a clear M6 to get a run on. done it plenty of times. google maps directions states 2hrs 13 mins from my flat to whinlatter. that's obviously sticking to speed limits too!
but whatever.

It's pretty hard to get lost in the Peaks tbh. When are you here? I might be able to show you around.

I'd highly reccomend doing both the Marin and then Penmachno.... Great days riding both final descents are superb!!! Further away than Llandegla but well worth it
