Got a ride tomorrow with friends in the lakes. Its going to kill me most likely.

So i have the option of.
Pork pie
sausage roll (posh farm shop ones)
scotch egg (again posh farm shop ones)

or a sandwich?

whats most likely to help me survive?

Why does it have to be one or the other? Take all of them.

If it is going to kill you then you may as well have a decent last meal so none of that. Maybe a nice scallop dish for starter, Fillet Steak for mains and then Lemon Merengue pie would be good for me.

If you want to survive then try some proper sports nutrition and some training.

Depends which three pubs you're stopping at.

I'd be going for the sausage roll with a back up sandwich, but that's mainly because I'm not a big fan of pork pies or scotch eggs.

I'd normally take some sandwiches (thinnish slices of bread rather than doorstop, don't want to be getting bloat wheat farts on that next climb!) with nice cheese and butchers ham plus nuts and raisins to snack on and some chocolate.

Obviously you also need jelly babies or fruit pastilles!

proper sports nutrition

OK, if we're going for next-level stuff: Cornish pasty? Or Eccles Cake?

Sandwich is an easy winner out of that lot.
You need carbs - lots of them - in an easily digestible form. All the others are pretty much all protein/fat.

Best bet is to nip to the supermarket and pick up a box of breakfast/cereal bars (I like kellogs breakfast bakes) and a bag of jelly babies

How long/big is the ride? I quite often just take a drink and a flapjack along with me then have some food sitting in the vehicle for after

good shout on the soreen.

Its about 35k and 4k of climbing. so not that much.

But im fat and unfit and have the bike handling skills of a drugged chimp. which means it could be hard for me and incredibly amusing for my mates 🙂

They're the post ride recovery drinks! To be taken with extra protein in the form of dry roasted peanuts and pork scratchings!

Take the lot, you sound like a right porker 🙂

regular folks would just take a few peanut butter sandwiches.
