I just got sent this video from a friend, Saul in the vid.

There's more riding in Spain than the Alpujarras or the Pirineos!

I hope you enjoy.

Now in the correct forum. 😉

That looks familiar, probably cos I rode down it a couple of weeks ago... Rode up it, too, no pushing 🙂

Nice vid!

A guy in our club was (or maybe still is) Madrid DH champion. I think he's called Emilio. I might go along to the campeonato in June.

Abantos is just above El Escorial

I was looking for something a bit more specific, 😉 I know where Escorial is.

Which club are you? Which category is the guy in your club?

Reviving a semi-dead thread, didn't see your reply til now.

The route up Abantos (from Villalba, anyway) usually starts on the "pista forestal", before turning into a track. It starts from the bar next to the hospital. If you fancy doing it someday give us a shout!

Ha ha! El Escorial hospital, I spent a beautiful afternoon there after breaking my thumb at Rallye de los Embalses, Rompepiernas, ahhhhh The memories.

I might take you up on the offer when the rain stops and I get a free weekend!

¿Colmenar this weekend??

Wife's village this weekend, I'll be taking the road bike.

I have better memories of the Hospital, both my kids were born there 🙂

Our club is Club Madroño (used to be called Karacol but we fell out with the shop!)

It's one of the biggest in Madrid so there will be quite a lot of them at Colmenar this weekend (but not me). Have a good time. Emilio is in Master 30.
