Off to Scotland tomorrow. Taking the bike (cottage is 10 minutes ride from Laggan) and on the way back stopping off at Peebles/Glentress for a couple of days.
My wife will have her bike but might not even fancy the blue at GT (climbs and speed aren't really her thing). Are there any nice easy 'tourist' or 'leisure' routes around there we could try? Distance isn't an issue really, but gradient and 'techiness' are.
Thanks.
There are green routes at Glentress and many forest roads.
There is also a cycle path running from Peebles all the way past Glentress and on to Innerleithen along the river bank. Pop into the Whistle Stop Cafe.
second the green route, drive up to the buzzards nest car park. Only about 20 minutes long though.
From Peebles you can go downstream to innerleithen as scotroutes says, also look at going upstream. Nice old railway line and some other paths. Take a light if you fancy the interesting 700m long non lit old tunnel, or you can go round it on singletrack
