Just come in from a very wet and tourettes-inducing ride - curtailed after about 8/9 miles as a result of my bike going in to self-shifting mode.
On any climbs, the bike kept shifting in to the granny ring with no warning and given the conditions at times it was very unwelcome. So to resolve it on climbs I thought I would select granny-ring myself and each time after about 20-metres the transmission locked up [FFS!] - had so many near offs and must have looked an absolute ****

Any ideas please - and no I am not going SS!

Sounds like chain suck to me.
Lube the chain and check your little ring for burrs and hooked teeth.

Yeah, I thought it may be gloop-on-mech related but I'll check out the chain & ring...ta!
