Ultimately 3 riding abreast and not moving for someone wanting to pass is not very good trail manners

I agree, but hesitating for a second isn't the same as not moving, is it? If it is, I guess my countryside rule book must be out of date 🙄

They assumed it was a joke and hesitated for a second.

"for a second" is often mis-used especially by those in "defence mode". And "a second" for one person in a race may be significantly differnt to a second for peope on a gentle jaunt up fireroats not expecting to be part of a race. Maybe it's the fact that his friends thought it was him and laughed it off before realising that triggered the outburst. As I say, 6 of 1.

You can keep saying it, you'll still be wrong 😉

If someone gets in your way, don't punch them

quick lap of the local woods and managed not to piss anyone off or have to punch anyone 😀
although i nearly run over a squirrel! i stopped and apologized and he was cool and we both went on our way.

3 riding abreast doesn,t block a road, and I don,t care what anyone says there is no need to swear at people especially when the so called racers are doing 2mph faster than the trail riders,as for insurance, yes I do have it,was I the one sworen at yes,did I defend my position, yes,do I race, yes, have I ever sworn at or tried to barge past other riders in a race,no,the correct terminoligy for someone needing to pass would be rider and shout what side he wanted to pass on not to wheeze peep peep at someone, then get totally antisocial.

If I was chatting to mates like that on a fire road, and someone "peep-peepd" from behind, I probably wouldn't go "oh shit, its a racer", but neither would I expect him to go to full on effing & jeffing in no time at all.

If someone rode up behind me and said "excuse me" then I'd probably react faster than with a "peep-peep".

Sounds like TQ competitors are way too competitive for me!
