Well you can now see the time the post took to appear and I didn't hit reply twice! so that's 8 minutes and when I came back to that tab I had

"Sorry, we are unable to reach the origin server at the moment. Please try again later.

After a few hours of use, I am finding the "new" badge on the thread list quite annoying now.

Oh, that's better.  Like a comfy pair of shoes.

The underline highlight doesn't follow the view though, it's always under Overview.

I really like it, but I think it would be better if a) it wasn't quite so startlingly bright compared with the subdued pallet of the rest of the forum, b) clicking it took you to the first New post (rather than the last post) and c) it was an option in settings.

Good to see the investment (time and money) in a new forum, when you didn't need to.

First thoughts relatively positive in a change takes a bit of time to get used to kind of way.

1 - I can't 'like'. I'm logged in and all that and tried it at work on Edge and at home on Chrome but no banana. I see other posts have had like, so it has to be possible....but not by me.

2- The extra step required to get to the last post on a thread has already got old. Like so old it wouldn't take much to make me not bother. It NEEDS to be clickable to directly from the list of threads main menu, otherwise traffic will drift away.

Yeah it apparently worked…..

Once I clicked reply, the site wouldn’t open/page wouldn’t load so I needed to open a new tab (iPad/safari) to view

The import of the old forum is heavy on the server resources and we think is causing the slowness as the evening traffic ramps up. But we are going to push on with the import to get it done. We are back to June 2020 now.

And if you edit a post the username is not the same as your actual username.

And while I'm at it..the 'new' label...will is settle down over time?

I've turned off dark mode and now I've got white text on a slightly off-white background. Everything is invisible.

I'm not going to post on here anymore, I can tell you're having a big day.

I'm going away for the weekend tomorrow. I'll be back on Monday when everything is perfect and magical.

Jesus take the wheel.

Yeah same, ill not attempt to post for a while till it settles down as pages take a minute or more to load and typing/replying just gives the spinny wheel

good luck to the dev team

Why isn't there a "go to last post" button on the main forum?  It's really annoying to have to open a thread, wait for it to load and then clock another button to go to the last post

I had my browser in dark theme and it's not very useable.

Browser in light theme is a lot better

'disable dark mode' in preferences is unchecked for both the above.

The likes aren't visible at all unless logged in.

Seems off to a good start anyway. Good luck with the transfer and teething problems 🙂

I'm getting timeouts when posting (maybe that's to do with the import)

Also maipage threads seem to be sorted randomly rather than most recently posted to at the top. That's very annoying.

The members forum link at the top takes you to a list of members, not the actual members forum like it used to.  Intriguingly, member names have colours and numbers assigned to them! Red 2, Green 5, Blue 3, Black etc.

I'm a "Red 2" apparently. All very cryptic!  Any amusing guesses as to what it signifies before Mark gives us the real and undoubtedly mundane reason?

Unless I’m totally blind I can’t see how to get to the last post in a thread? Can’t see the icon that’s been suggested above?

^^^ I'm 'Level: Black' - is that good or bad! 😬

Anyway - we've now lost this button (pic below) so we've got to resort to drop-down again to get to last page...

<!-- Font Awesome fontawesome.com --> <!-- Font Awesome fontawesome.com --> <!-- Font Awesome fontawesome.com --> <!-- Font Awesome fontawesome.com --> <!-- Font Awesome fontawesome.com -->

Seems to be some problem with caching somewhere.

What I see as the latest post shown on the front page,. doesn't correlate to what I see on this page.

Eg. Last post to this thread on front page was from chewkw 3 mins ago, but I can't see that post on here on the last page

(At time of writing)

It's because the page doesn't refresh promptly after hitting Add Reply so people hit the button repeatedly.  It's already posted, you just can't see it.

The forum seems to work better on mobile if you use desktop mode. Everything scales better making it easier to find what you need.

Good call. Much easier to read. I assume things will change or settle but that is a handy work -around for now

The old glitch of posting Amazon links for the embedding engine to display it as a broken Kindle link is still present.  Worse, the previous workaround of posting using the Link button is equally affected.  The edit window expired before I could get something sensible out of it.

https://singletrackworld.com/forum/postid/13528675/

Backticks no longer work as CODE delimiters.  Is that going to break old posts?

member reputation system apparently.  I'm guessing it's switched off now as it won't make much sense until all old posts are in.

Replies missing despite being shown as the last post on a thread, the order of threads on the home page is all over the place.

And the not being able to go to the last post directly from the home page is really irritating.
