lucky to be top 20 after the proper mountains.

Didn't one of the pundits say the finish yesterday was a steeper and harder effort (obviously shorter) than in the big mountains? Judging by Contador's gurning I'd say so.

Can it have been harder than the real mountains if Hushovd finished 6th?

It was more of a classics style climb than anything else.

And although I haven't ridden the Mur de Bretagne, I did find some really nasty climbs when I rode across Britanny. None of them compared in difficulty to the big mountains like Ventoux.

Fairy nuff Jon...I think what I was trying to say is that in the high mountains a rider can grind it out, or recover between attacks and that wasn't an option yesterday on the short steep climb. As Thor said, when he started to get dropped he chucked it in to the big ring and put a sprint-style effort in.

They're falling left right and centre!
Doesn't look like Brachovich will be getting onto his bike again. ๐Ÿ™

will Boonen get points deducted? even if he does, doesn't mean much for Cavendish. must win today with Farrar coming way down

Even the letour.fr official commentary seems to think Boonen was out of order.

Ha ha! Spoilt Toddler throwing toys out of the pram once more! ๐Ÿ˜†

Why din't he just keep on it, instead of throwing a strop and sitting up?

God of Thunder FTW! ๐Ÿ˜€

Elf, give it a rest.

I'd be annoyed too if someone deliberately blocked me in a sprint. Nothing to do with being spoiled.

NUNS!

Ooh, that cooduv bin a child's face...

Spoilt Toddler shooduv acted more professionally and just got on with the job he gets paid for. Don't see all the others throwing a strop just cos they don't get their own way.

LiDLs.

Replay; YES the motorbike did just nick his bike and leave him a bit confused! One for Question of Sport I think.

there was no way through, if he tried to get through he'd have been docked points again probably...

Cav could have got back on the gas and got 4th or so I think. It would have been better for him to deal with it after the race rather than sitting up, but that's up to him.

Love these bays around St Brieuc, but there are some tight twisty roads until they're clear of Val Andre for more crashes, but the best crepes I've ever had. It'll be very windy in the last 10k

I thought you said it was boring Elfie?
In fact you said that about the lack of Prologue, then a day later were saying how exciting it was that everyone was basically on the same time and it was all to play for...

Make your mind up!

Mrs Grips and Lil Grips just now:

MG: Should we watch the racing Meg?
LG: It not racing it bike.
MG: It's bike racing on the road.
LG: No racing bike! Cars, cars racing. Mack! Car yook for Mack!
MG: But this is bike racing, not a movie, Daddy likes it.
LG: No Daddy yike! Meggy watch Cars!

Because it was Written.

Meggy is right.

Why did it have to happen?
.

Because a small or lone breakaway is what Voeckler attempts pretty much every year, and the fact that it hadn't happened yet this year was mentioned in one of the previous TdF threads.
