Hi does anyone know if I can safely use a 31.6mm bar in a Deda stem which has a 31.7mm clamp diameter? It doesn't seem a lot but there must be a reason why Deda are slightly bigger. I suspect to force you to use only their bar and stem and to not allow mix and match. Only ask as I can get a Deda stem at a cheaper price than other name brands.

Yes use it. In the context of a bar clamp 0.1mm is neither here or there and almost within the realms of normal tolerances. Torque up to the recommended value though.
