Hi does anyone know if I can safely use a 31.6mm bar in a Deda stem which has a 36.7mm clamp diameter? It doesn't seem a lot but there must be a reason why Deda are slightly bigger. I suspect to force you to use only their bar and stem and to not allow mix and match. Only ask as I can get a Deda stem set a cheaper price than other name brands.

Well no, unless you have a shim that will take up the difference.

I would assume probably.
if not and you do mean 36.7 then no it wont even touch the bars you have

No I did mean to type 31.7mm.
