So I'm trying to install an Eagle GXP cranks. Should be easy, attach the non-drive side and tighten the crank bolt. However, my crank bolt has no face for the hex wrench. It's completely round.

Am I missing something???

Does that help?

Nope.
Exactly what I'm doing but there's nothing to tighten. Nothing for the hex wrench to connect with.

Sounds like a duff bit then sadly.

I assume you're holding onto a thread? It's just been mis-punched. Might be quicker to see if there's a spare available than warranty the whole thing?

Canny quality control that isn't it for a 300 quid crank!

Thankfully Amazon have one for Prime delivery!

Prime to the rescue!

Of course.... you might have one in your old chainset? Looks like a fairly samey part

Quality quality control.

I had that on a Universal shopping bike years ago - the crank bolt had the Allen key end but the shaft of the bolt was just a rod. No threads on it. Someone had just pushed it into the hole in the factory and put the crank cap on.

So, Sram and Universal clearly employ the same QC team.
