Hi all, I've just purchased a marin hawk hill for the lad. It arrived today but with a couple of issues. Bars are scratched up a fair bit, which is not the end of the world. However, fork stantions have a fair bit of pitting. They are recon silver so have steel uppers. Is this normal? I wouldn't think so? Cheers, Chris

no, not normal and pitted steel is likely to damage the fork seals as well as allowing crap in and oil out 🙁

I bought those forks recently,second hand, for a winter hack bike. They don't have any pitting in the stantions mate.

OK, I have already contacted the shop, hopefully resolve it asap! Wanted to give it a trial run thus weekend!!
