We will be in touch
Probably going to the peak district this weekend, think I've ridden round rowarth many moons ago but can't remember, is this route worth doing this weekend?

Just wondering if there's resurfacing works or the trails have suffered badly over winter or whether the route planner has missed some good bits out.
Done a lot of stuff from hayfield over to and in edale valley, fancied a bit of a change.
Thast's not a bad route, there are a couple of sections that might be a little boggy but overall it'll be in reasonable nick Can be improved in a couple of places, e.g.
From 7 to 8, they take Smithy lane

Better descent is to continue 200 yards along the road and turn left down Gird Lane

We'll be out on Sunday if you want company / guided riding
yeah I got ya, from bottom of gird is it hollywood rd to get back on route or along here?
Cheers for the offer, just 2 of us, will have a chat with my mate. What route you doing? time, meetpoint etc? Email in profile if you prefer.
It's back along the road to here, that track you linked to is a farm track that's not used by the public
not quite sure what the plan is yet, will post up or mail you later. What time were you planning to start from Hayfield? We'd probably suggest a start from Marple - it's closer for you and means we can ride from the door as opposed to driving out then more or less riding back home
What are the good bits between miles 3 and 9?
I quite fancy that as an extra loop if there's anything good up there.
Jas and I also might join you for a social one on Sunday (and bail if we're too slow!)
From the end of middle moor (mile 2.5) to mile 9, to be frank the only "good" bit is gird lane as per my post above. I wouldn't do that exact route myself especially if starting from Marple, I'd do something like a cross between these two

but still not exactly either of those. Out of marple up to Mellor Hall, loop up Smithy lane and down gird lane and back to Mellor hall, through to Gun road and over to ZIg and Zag, through to Aspenshaw hall, optional extenstion via barking dogs farm to PBW into hayfield, twentytrees and middle moor, left at the end towards little hayfield then right up to Blackshawhead, cut through to the Last Drop to Rowarth then back to Marple for Tea and Cake. Or Beer.
edit - I'll map that out later
Based on last night it'll be back to Marple for a jet wash to clean all the mud and cow poo off your bike - I would stay on the righteous side of Cown Edge personally… 😉
I did most of that route this afternoon, plus Lantern Pike and the Shooting Cabin.
I also did it on Tuesday evening.
Tuesday was muddy but the trails have dried a lot since then. I may join you on Sunday if you want more company.
If so let me know start time/place.
If not then have a great time!
Not fixed a time yet, normally like to be riding 9:30ish. Had intended adding on ollerset, peep o day, higher heys and dropping into Caldwell clough, bring it up to a round 20miles (I think) but whatever. Marple start is probably ok with us
All comers welcome. Let's say 9.45 for 10 from the Ring o'Bells in Marple

The pub car park is on Waterside behind the pub, turn right alongside the pub as you come up the hill. They do good food and good beer so I would suggest that after the ride we put a little back into the local community by stopping for a sociable beverage 🙂
Our pace will be social rather than racey so I won't be offended if you decide not to hang around. If you have a GPS device this is the route I suggested above that you can try to download

Anything I've missed?
Edit - I see you posted while I was typing. is a 10am start ok for you? the route up there is 24 miles so probalby long enough
