So they are nearly here according to the email I had from Sam yesterday and I am now wondering what kit to fit mine out in?

Currently I have an XT BB and, well in honesty that's about it!

Anyone care to give me an insight in to what they are planning for theirs?

You'll definitely need two of those 😉

29+ Hugo's on Hope and/or Phil Wood hubs (singlespeed)
Eno Cranks
Gonna try some jones loops bars
Hope X2 brakes
Been more than slightly obsessing about tyres, I have a knard, a fat b nimble, a dirt wizard and a trax fatty to try out....

650b+ on mine
POSTED 1 HOUR AGO # REPORT-POST

650b+ !! You've waited 18 months for one of only 4 or 5 29+ frames in existence and you're putting 650b+ in it? 😆

I'm going 1x11 xt M8000, I've a thomson post or an rsp dropper and thomson stem with a pair of groovy luv handles or a pair of easton havens. Wheels are Duallys on novatec hubs shod with chronicles.

Magnum sure is tempting, I've been reading though that new boost spaced Rebas also have enough clearance.....

Yokaiser, let us know how you find the chronicles, I've heard reports that they are draggy compared to other 29+ offerings

Been riding with a Chronicle on the front of a Jones and a Knard on a Gryphon. Only riding 29er+ at the front but the Chronicle wins for me in every respect.

Does anyone think we will be able to run any of these plus size tyres in the sticky winter clag.? It's my worst fear that I have these nice plus size wheels and frame and end up putting 2,25 beavers on.....

In winter I'll be going fatter, not thinner.

Currently I have an XT BB

Ha, me too.

Sprinking of XT (BB, chain, cassette, SPDs) and Zee 1x10 (rest of drivetrain). Absolute black oval chainring. Old SLX brakes from the spare parts bin. Duallies on Novatec D882SB hubs & Surly Dirt Wizards.

ESI chunky grips, Ritchey stem, Funn flat bar. Fabric scoop saddle.

First new bike (rather than 2nd hand) in over five years!

Singlespeed (32 x 20)
Rabbit hole with Chronicle up front.
Knard on Dually 46mm at rear.

Combo headset with Hope bottom cup and a Chris King top
Middleburn square taper cranks.

BB7 front 180mm
SLX rear 160mm

Thomson and Easton bits
Oh and a nice bell from Spurcycle 🙂

Just need something to hang all of that off! 😉

29+ in winter? Depends on your local mud. If it's sticky clay clag be prepared for your wheels to end up weighing more than the queue at MacDonalds.

Oh those Manitous are tempting but think I'll wait a while before pushing the button. At that price i can't see them selling out to quickly!

Just realised that I bought a load of bits a few months ago to build up a new bike for the gf's which hasn't/ins't now going to happen as my need is greater 😆

Just got to decide on black or silver finishing kit for it is guess but as I got the Swift Blue one coming then I'm leaning towards sliver Thomson stem, and post with some sunline risers I have laying around.

Anyone got any ideas on wheels other than the Surley Rabbit Hole or Hugo?

Be aware of your headset choice, you can't get a silver hope in these sizes (AFAIK), so I've gone back to black, however, Sam has a silver one on one of his pics but I don't know what sort it is.

Good point kCal!

Might need to mismatch my grips, pedals and cranks (length, and q-factor).

. . . or maybe not!

Grips certainly - I could go Red - Green: Port - Starboard 😉

Yes, Hope 1H is the correct Hope headset configuration. The SHIS specs are on the product page on the site and are on the Kickstarter page as well. Any other questions though just shout.

Merlin do an extra 10% off Hope if you spend over £50

Total cost of Rooster headset: £51.84 against Witstanleys £51.18 - so not much in it!

If a red Rohloff ever turns up at the right price second hand, I'll rebuild the rear wheel. I'll probably splash out on a new red front disc before I put it all together.
I'm planning on getting the rims anodised red as well. 8)

I've got used to them now and have got them on all my bikes.

Mine arrived today, minus the rims, so I've emailed Sam and hopefully they'll be here soon.
It comes with single cable guides fitted and some loose triple guides, which I thought would be ideal for the Rohloff...

[img] [/img]

...except that...

[img] [/img]

...it's got weld on single guides on the left hand seat stay. 😥
Not a serious problem and I've obviously had to improvise on other frames, but I can't be the only person wanting to use a Rohloff, so it would have been nice to be able to run the two cables through proper guides.

Mine arrived yesterday, but due to changes in circumstance and riding habits looks like mine will be going up for sale.
Shame as I love the colour (swift blue) and idea of 29+.

Myopic - apologies - I thought I'd been diligent in sticking them to everyone's frame as I put the correct fork in the box. I realised I missed one or two only after I sealed the box, so dropped them in (wrapped in some paper) in those cases. However in trying to get >50 frames shipped in a week it's possible I missed one altogether. If that's the case drop me an email and I'll post you one.
