Currently use endura humvee with it's clickfast liner, but I find after a few hours in the saddle it can move around a bit and gets a bit damp & uncomfortable.
Any recommendations? Don't want to spend much more than £60-70 would prefer that to be on short & liner but could bin it all on the liner if it's decent
Proper bib shorts for the win!
Bin the baggies. They always get too hot and sloppy IMO. I've currently got some demarchi bibs that I use the most
Endura FS260 pro. MUCH better pad than the Humvee. Just wear your Humvee outers over them.
Endura lycra with unpadded baggies over the top, endura are pretty good for both really.
My comfiest shorts are some italian pangoni? bibs that cost me a kings randsom but I'd be crazy to wear them outside, they only get worn at the velodrome. And even then, I'd be happier sliding along on my face and elbows than on my arse.
+1 Smif**** - Try bib's and you never go back. I have the fs ones too. So good brought a second pair. Still wear baggies over the top!
For your budget, I think you could do a lot worse than Giordana Tenax or DHB Finchdean bib shorts
The Specialized stuff is pretty good, I did 6.5 hours on a road bike this weekend and felt fine at the end.
2 pairs of bibshorts, sorted. I used some Gore Oxygens with some Endura Fieldsensor something or other team shorts over the top for a 12 hour solo and was very comfortable.
Sugoi! I've used RS bibshorts for 24 hour solo and the Iditarod. I'll be using them for the Tour Divide. Absolutely awesome without being as expensive as Assos.
Even their Gustov baggies are pretty good. They'll do for upto 12 hours for me.
I used mt500 lycras on my euro trip a couple of years ago - 8 hours a day for 3 weeks - fine with a dab of cream
i use a ladies selle italia trans am saddle , comfiest saddle on earth 🙂
Thanks for your suggestions. After a bit of googling I've put an order in for a tenax bib. So will see.
Missus thinks it's hilarious, I'd rather be laughed at by her than have trouble sitting down though....
