Its time for a new lid.

I'm still using an old Giro Pneumo and just keep replacing the pads. The trouble is the pads dont last too many washes before the backing gives up and they refuse to sit correctly in the lid.

I don't want an enduro style lid, but something that looks and feels like the older road/mtb that will work both road and mtb. Hope that makes sense!

Where should I be looking?

Hmm. looks good. Are the pads a better design (longer lasting)?

I've got a shagged one and the pads are in place. I don't wash them though because I'm a grotbag.

not sure I can help but your post reminded me of my old Giro Hammerhead SC which I loved. I have 2 Kask lids which are the first lids I've been happy with for years, the Mojito reminds me a bit of old school xc helmets, that could work? Possibly?

Any road helmet should fit the bill - I like the kask one I have but forget which one. Catlike also seem popular

I've just replaced a well worn / battered Lazer Z1 with a Kask Mojito 3 and its very nice indeed.

I dont wash my helmet pads until they become unbearable on the mining sweat pouring into my eyes and stinging level.

Thanks for the comments folks - though not washing your pads is just minging.

Unbelievably my nagging suspicion that I had a spare pack of new pads proved fruitful after rumaging through a bits box - so I'm ok (at least for a couple of washes).

Will check out a Kask Mojito.

I've never washed the pads in any helmet.

Now you mention it, it is minging.

Kask Mojito here, love it. Been using them for years now

Recently bought a Kask Kaipi which is basically a roadie/XC helmet with a visor, very light. Currently on sale at £75

The Kask Caipi looks a litle too enduro style for my taste.

Have a look at a Uvex Flash
I've only had Giro, Fox, Kask before and one of those Uvex came up cheap in a sale, so I took a punt, thinking I could send it back. Turned out to fit well and be the best vented helmet I've ever owned. I always soak the sweat up with kitchen roll after rides so the pads don't get minging. They haven't needed washing yet.
