Now that sideways slithering season is upon us, BikeInn have some Hillbilly tyres for cheap

Any recommendations for a rear tyre to go with the Hillbilly on the front?

Cannibal works well.

One for changeable temperatures

https://planetx.co.uk/products/planet-x-pro-line-365x-3-4-length-bib-shorts-1

I've just got a pair, having previously not really got on with the shorts versions sizing. Fit is 'interesting' I'm normally somewhere between a L and XL, but plumped for a XL with these. I'm average build 6'2, but with a long torso, and if I'm honest the legs are a little long and the straps are a little short for the size or not stretchy enough. Fit wise they're comfortable enough and I'd not want to size down despite the everso slightly baggy knee sections.

however, they're a tenner.

if they fit you, they'll serve well as an in between seasons pair of shorts.

Nice raceface carbon bars for £60. I've got these in 40mm rise and they feel pretty similar to the oneup.

Oooooooh very tempted, I’ve had a pair of these for about 6 years and they are still brilliant, I don’t really need a spare pair but… 🙂

I also have an ancient pair that are still going strong but the newer version are a bit nicer fitting with the lower leg taper. Not sure how the bigger ones size up but the small are good for 31-32w.

That's a very good price - The Endura Spray pants ARE quite a good fit and nice and warm, but don't expect much in the way of keeping the wet out. I've had 2 pairs & even the most recent (maybe 18 months old), fine in drizzle but riding through the inevitable British wet foliage / ferns or splash through a few puddles and they are soaked through and heavy plus sticking to the legs from the knees down pretty soon. It must be a matter of taste or local conditions because I know lots of folk love them (e.g. Will's Singletrack review was made me buy em)

Merlin seem to have some good deals on SRAM brakes, too. Older models, but that shouldn't really matter

For the Laithwaites PSA don't forget to check your bank cashback offers - my HFX account has a 10% cashback offer. TopCashBack has 8.5% too.. stack away!

You can usually get more off too by setting it up as a subscription and then cancelling after the first dispatch.

GRX 600 chainsets at Merlin for £59.99. Cheaper than buying replacement chainrings.

5000km on mine and they are slipping like crazy.

Those pedals are okay- prefer my SS Nano, but worth it on your, not best bike, if the colour suits or as an emergency spare set to leave in the car/ van in case you turn up at BPW and need to pay RRP for a pair when your normal ones shit themselves inexplicably.

For extra few quid these pedals are good if you are on the budget. Good size platform and enough grip. I run them on one of my bikes and have already ordered spare pair.

If you ride everywhere in full power then yeah maybe.

But it's max 55nM from the motor so 400wH battery will get you a decent ride if you're prepared to put some effort in.

I can happily do 30 miles with 4'k of climbing and still finish with 30% of a 540wH battery on my Rise. That would be a mix of eco (20nM) and trail (38nM).

Yeh, depends how you rinse it. I’ve got the same motor/battery on my Canyon. Did 48km/715m climbing last time (very muddy and I had the lurgy), and 38km/940m with 19% left the time before.

I picked up a RE for a good price on an eBay discount promotion so have 650wh when heading off for the day.

Hopefully there will be some decent black Friday deals on phones this year. There was an awesome deal on the Google pixel 8A last year and so I'm hoping they'll be something similar this year so I can upgrade my sons 🙂

Google themselves have already released their black Friday deals and as typical they are absolutely not worth having a look at being around 5% discount maximum on anything...

If anyone works for a phone company it has new prior knowledge my DMS are open 🙂

Google are doing £200 off the Pixel 10 range from the 12th + 5% via a code. Not great compared to what has been available.

Will be interesting to see if Google do any additional trade in value over black friday, they were offering £200 extra a couple of weeks ago.

Giff Gaff currently have £500 off the Pixel 10 Pro  at £579 Google Pixel 10 Pro | Pay Monthly or Buy Now | giffgaff which looks like a much better deal

XT 11sp LinkGlide setup (shifter, cassette, mech) £150-160*  plus another £10-20 for chain of your choice:

Shifter, XT 11sp SL-M8130, eBay £29.99

Cassette, 11sp 11-50t CS-LX700-11, Sport & Leisure, £69.99 (* I snagged a cassette at £60 elsewhere but now OOS)

Mech, XT 11sp RD-M8130, Paul Milne Cycles, £59.99

Can use any 11sp chain so I didn't include that in the above cost - it doesn't have to be LinkGlide-specific, but there is the 124-link CN-LG500 for £12 from Sport & Leisure

Appears good value to me. Shifter/mech/cassette for the same cost as the SRAM XG-1275 cassette I'm currently burning through on my ebike and should be more durable.

I've been swithering over a Pixel 9a. Has been at £349 but with the 5% and a slight hike in trade-in (my screen's cracked) its down to £249.
BUT... I want to resist and see how long my knackered phone will last - that's free, unless it gives up right after the sales.

the 15% google referral code stacks with the current pixel offers too. So the pixel 10 can be had for £479 + trade in value. I'll happily share a referral code if anyone wants one.

As captaintomo says above, not LinkGlide. Its own little ecosystem. No compatibility - other than chains - between 'normal' 11-speed and LinkGlide 11-speed. Different cog spacing. Benefit is supposedly 3x durability and built to cope with the higher forces involved with an e-bike. Or so it says.

I recently made the switch to 11 speed link glide from 12 speed Deore XT and very happy.  Same shifter and derailleur as shared earlier but the lower tier LG400 50t cassette as found a decent deal at the time. Definitely feels more solid than the 12 speed but only about 200 miles in so far so can't comment on the 3x durability claim.

Linkglide isnt 3x more durable but it does work very well. Small cogs still wear out if your churning them on an Ebike but with the XT linkglide cassette you can replace the smallest 4.

Put linkglide stuff on my wife's ebike recently.  Much as above but a U6000 mech, which is a bit cjheaper.  Seems to work but hasn't been fully challenged with shifting under power etc as yet

My eleven speed 5100 mech and XT shifter worked with a Linkglide cassette. I only did it as an experiment but once b tension adjusted for 50t instead of 50 it was fine. I have a cheap Linkglide cassette now if anyone interested!

Not the Rapha Gore-tex jacket I was expecting! I’m hoping for a bargain on the Trail baggy MTB-style jacket…

Garmin radar light for £40 anyone?

It's not the flashing one and it's refurbished. I've only had great quality kit from this seller before..

Love my Osmo Action 4.

I'm hoping it will live up to the reviews from about a year ago, I assume the price cuts are due to the Newer Version being out.

Yeah the 5 has been out for a while now. I've been very impressed so far, filming MiniMonkey on rides and adventures and a bit of POV bike stuff to remind me how slow I am...
