Some great deals on Conti at bike-tyres.co.uk.

https://www.bike-tyres.co.uk/collections/mtb

Has anyone here ever bought from them?

They seem ok.

1. Does it feel too good to be true? No

2. Was it a link from a Facebook etc. advert or (ahem) some other site that shows untrustworthy adverts? No presumably

3. Check TrustPilot https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.bike-tyres.co.uk

4. Do they have an address

...

Thanks Bens, I'm after the super soft compound really but that's a good price for a soft compound tyre.

I was led to them from a link on facebook initially, which did make me suspicious.  But googled them afterwards and they seemed legit and fairly sure it was the same site, not some dodgy lookalike.

I'm always a bit careful these days with websites I'm not familiar with/haven't used before.

Shirley a cafe like this in such a scenic spot makes a killing?!

No is the short answer. I’ve been up there on beautiful spring/autumn days biking and it’s been empty

What killed it even more was when they put average speed cameras up on the pass. No bikers are car enthusiasts go up there anymore

Argotal Enduro are still £30 at Merlin.

They've got the Kryptotal Front Enduro soft (which is a more mixed conditions tyre, works well on the rear as well) for £35 as well as various tyres in Trail Endurance compound.

https://www.merlincycles.com/mountain-bike-tyres-75332/?brand=continental

and Maxxis DHR2 exo + at £40

Or just get it custom tuned and bushing-sized by J Tech when new and it’ll probably be better than the charger 3.1 model anyway

Excellent thanks for this advice, for some reason I had in my head that it be considerably dearer than that.

Spada tops are my go to nowadays, very soft, and wear well. The sizes available are getting limited though now, I had one of the last XL Topo jerseys on Sunday. I also got one of the £35 helmets, which is pretty good, certainly as good as my current £90 helmet.

What is Spada sizing like? I sit right on the cusp of L/XL for so many things. Size guides only give you some information.....

Their waterproof trews were very tight, needed large instead of my usual medium and still quite snug

That Canyon, and the CF9 at £3700, looked a great bike.  Seemingly, however, despite only ever riding mountain bikes in size Large, the Canyon size guide has me on a medium, and they are all sold out!

Fantastic prices on DT Swiss wheelsets at Merlin

X 1900: https://www.merlincycles.com/dt-swiss-x-1900-spline-boost-mtb-wheelset-29-334628.html

XM 1700: https://www.merlincycles.com/dt-swiss-xm-1700-spline-boost-mtb-wheelset-29-336763.html

If anyone has a Ratchet Microspline Freehub, I'll happily swap it for the Ratchet XD driver freehub which I won't need.

That Spada clothing is another 20% cheaper on Sportpursuit if you are confident on the sizing and not having to return items

Thanks for the Spada PSA.

My shorts and trail top arrived today and they are great. I hope this isn't them getting out of the MTB market because I would definitely get more from them.

I am usually a medium and the medium clothes were perfect for me.

I was tempted by the helmets but I really need to try them on because I find some uncomfortable.

Because I know the medium clothing is a great fit for me I ordered another pair of shorts, long sleeved top and a waterproof jacket off Sports Pursuit for £55 delivered.

totalbleedsolutions look to hav good prices on Hope V4s and E4s - about £100 off rrp for a pair. Haven't seen anywhere else cheaper whilst browsing for brakes.

Unfortunately only pairs left in colours which would clash with my bike, so didn't go for them 🙂

There was only a single brake in black! or a single in silver! I considered a V4 rear and an E4 front (or vice versa) but thought nah 🙂

A large adjustment range on it. I’m usually a large medium, this M/L fits fine. The only fault I can find is that the rear strap/adjuster doesnt go down toward the neck quite enough - I like the strap to be quite low, then it holds the helmet more securely when going over rocky sections. This one is slightly toward the top of my head, so possible to pop off, though I intend to use it for gravel rides, so should be fine.

Cheers for the Spada PSA, got some of there gear already and it's good quality. Word of warning though size up in the pants, I'm usually a medium but they're very snug compared to other brands. Due a new lid so that's good timing!

My Spada jerseys arrived today

The trail jersey shirt is a bit of a shapeless mess; not a great fit and seems very baggy for a small

the Topo Thermo jersey is much better fit & quality, and has a nice logo too

for the price I won’t complain with either though!
