[Closed] pitch hill and winterfold up for sale -end of open access?

Apologies if already posted but i couldnt find it in another thread

The Shere manor estate has announced that it is putting up for sale the land between Radnor Lane and Winterfold to cover tax liabilities. Although they hope access will remain unchanged it is not clear whether this will be the case.
One suspects that most of the land value is in the commercial rights to the mature timber since in theory it is protected common land that can't be built on. However, I can also see it being snapped up and turned into a private or shooting estate with access strictly limited to the RoW as other parts of the Surrey Hills are

A bit harsh of me perhaps, search function trying a few different keywords is what I try, not flawless but usually does the job

Search is crap - use Google with "site:singletrackworld.com" at the end.

Thanks Nick, havent seen any of the previous. There was a FB page where a suggestion was made about buying it ourselves, ourselves being local cyclists.

Indeed, there's a few such suggestions, and friends of the Hurtwood have suggested they'd chip in too. I'm not averse to such a plan, see what happens I guess!
