I am currently running a 32t ring on middleburn uno's but want to go to a 34t wonky

As it stands this looks like it will saw through the chain stays which is a bad thing

Therefore looking for recommendations of alternatives to give me enough offset to get the rings outboard a tad

Any help gratefully received

You can either pack the BB outboard with another spacer if you have a 68mm shell using 2-3 spacers, or you can get a crank spider and put the 34T on the outside.

If you have an old-school square taper/ISIS, just get a longer axle.

I would not sanction hammering the chainstay out of the way.

Looked at the spider option but it adds weight and doesn't seem a clean solution so if I replaced the burns are there any alternatives that would solve the issue and look 'proper'

I think, BETD Goldtec wonky rings for UNO cranks have an offset to avoid this.

Cheers- I did have a go with a proto from goldtec but that still fouled my Lynskey and I think the Peggy will be the same- may pop down and speak to them as they're only down the road

Hi pop,
I have a Pegasus with a wobbly 35t ring. Think its mounted on the 'big ring' side of an xt crank spider. No extra spacers, well one spacer and one bb mounted chain guard for the 1x9 set up. Works perfectly.

what you need is a bike with a decent EBB, not that piffling ikkle effort on the peggy 😉

keef runs a wonky on his peggy with no issues, think he's on shimano cranks

Doh, just remembered the 35t wobble ring is on a single speed set up, so getting the chainline straight was no prob. Sorry for the above mis-info. I have also run it 1x9 with the 32t ring on its middle position, much larger and yes you would need extra spacers or shift the ebb toward the drive side a few mm, or position the ring in the outer spider position.

You should be good to go then. Got my 35t wobbly off Tazzy. Running 35x 20 on a half fat set-up.

No need for a half link on that ratio?

No, the chains a standard1/8th kmc ss jobbie. Runs smooth as can be unless I over-tighten the ebb which causes it to creak a bit. Also need to re-tighten the chain slack every now and then.
