Perhaps a daft question - but here goes.
I got a new bouncy Commencal Super 4 which is great - but it has a wierd attribute of turning right slightly on every landing / compression / square hit.
I hope that makes sense- and its not me. A mate tried it in a set of straight bomb-holes and felt he had to steer out of them. He thought it was odd.
If I bounce up and down on the flat I can see the rear wheel moving to the left of the seatpost. But I tried with all the air out of the shock in the garage and it seems fine!
Just to prove I'm sad - I videoed the rear on a bumpy fireroad and it does move left of the seattube.
So is it normal for bikes to flex / bend / twist so much that it steers / you notice it? Do I have a problem? Could something be sticking/failing?
#Edit - I've tried it with 3 different rear wheels and they're all the same.
It sounds like the back end is bent/twisted/misaligned.
Headset setup right?
or a strange torque reaction from drivetrain?
Thanks for the replies.
The most obvious time this happens is freewheeling into something like a bombhole. To me it does take a definite action to stay in a straight line. So I really doubt it's drivetrain related. The headset it totally fine.
I suspect the backend is fubar - but its my first bouncy bike and dont want to make a tit of myself with my lbs (where I bought it).
##Edit - I'm sure its a rear suspension problem - If I hit a slow speed bump and the front reacts as expected but once the rear hits Im feeling a twist / steer.
Somethings not happy... rebound too slow?
What shock does it have?

Its an Rp23. Rebound approx 3 clicks from slowest. but I dont see how that would cause a twist?
Send it back.
Send it back.
Fair enough - but I got a good relationship with these guys. I'd just like to understand whats up!
has it always done it?
has it always done it?
Yep. I thought it was part of the full sus experience!
I can live with it - but from a physics / materials point of view it cant be good for the frame.
double post.
Remember, the bike shop isn't the business losing money, Commencal are.
sedn it back deffo
I had a fishtailing full suspension bike. It turned out to be a linkage that was snapped on one side.
