Posted yesterday for general advice but a mate has come up this route

Scarth Gap - Black Sail - Wasdale - NetherBeck - Haycock - Ennerdale - Red Pike loop?

The NetherBeck-Haycock-Ennerdale section is a bit of an unknown, anyone ridden this.

What do you think for an all dayer, how long do you think?

thanks

Simon

You'll be pushing/carrying your bike a lot.

Try posting on www.ridethelakes.co.uk. Sounds like a long day of carrying to me!

I'd go left at wasdale over styhead then back up honister(which has a offroad option). Black sail and Styhead are awesome descents.

NetherBeck-Haycock-Ennerdale will be boggy this time of year, lots of carrying up and not that great a descent into Ennerdale.

'Red Pike loop' is one of those done it once never again type rides if you get my drift ๐Ÿ™‚

Was that not an MBR route a few years back (like 8 or so). If so it's a scunner. Lots of hike-a-bike. Black sail pass has a nice wee scramble and the descent's not as good as you'd think. The return is a path less well trodden.
